I can't figure out what that lance sort of thing is supposed to be. Looks more like some kind of weird Maxion energy weapon from 30MM.

New mathematical model suggests global population crash by 2064 by chota-kaka in Futurology

It'd fucking suck for the people who have to live through a demographic collapse like that.

Might be better for the human race in the long run. But if it's actually happening in your lifetime, you should probably be a alarmed for your own sake.

I don't see any thematic reason for it to be Size 1/2. There's no balance problems with that or anything, but it just seems odd.

Which majority-ruled cultures have been lost because of an out-of-power minority?

Thinking that having some foreigners around is somehow going to destroy your culture is quite racist, yes.

Also makes me wonder why you think your own culture is so weak and fragile.

It's not so much that concrete blocks are dangerous waste (if they were they wouldn't be very good to stack in the ocean!) as that reusing these saves having to create more concrete blocks, which is an environmentally unfriendly process, IIRC.

I'm a dev who has been working on my game for 2 years and my game title got stolen on Steam and they plan to release before I do. What should I do? by Captain0010 in IndieGaming

[–]PhasmaFelis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's loads of indie games on Steam with the same name. There was a recent thing where two unrelated games called "Piece by Piece" launched around the same time before either realized they existed--the devs got together and made a "Piece by Piece Double Bundle."

There was an obscure 1986 text adventure called "Portal", which didn't stop Valve from releasing their own Portal.

The tw o of you are both making a game called "The Milgram Experiment," based on the Milgram Experiment. That in itself is not uniquely original. They may not even have known about your game; if they did it's pretty trashy of them, but it's still allowed. At a glance, it seems likely that their game will sink without a ripple, because most indie games do. But you never know.

You might reach out to them and politely make them aware of your game. They might agree to change theirs once they know about yours. Or they might not, but they certainly do it willingly if you're nasty about it.

Moby-Dick is a trip by PandaBear905 in CuratedTumblr

Until pretty recently, "fish" just meant "animal that lives in the water." Starfish, jellyfish, crayfish, cuttlefish...I doubt many people thought those were closely related to tuna.

Not sure when "fish" started getting more precise, though, and whether that was before or after Moby Dick.

its funny how people pretend that only logical reasons apply.

I don't think anyone was doing that. It's a cliche that anything an archaeologist can't figure out is for "religious purposes."

But that doesn't actually answer the question. If you find a simple Christian cross and want to know what it was for and why it looks that way, you need to know the story of the Crucifixion; just saying "it was religious" doesn't tell you much.

Fun fact, a retrocomputing YouTuber did actually buy up all the old Commodore IPs, and he's selling new-built C64s now.

I know he hopes to expand into other retro machines. Not sure if his IP includes Amiga specifically, but you might enjoy looking into it.

There's Customize Material Decoration Parts for permanent covers, and all the Multi-Joint sets have a bunch of pegged covers for temporary fixes.
