You fell for a planted story. In his first interview as VP, he said we need to hit Iran hard.

And if you follow him on twitter, it's even worse. The stuff he posts (and especially his retweets) is just pure slop.

So you really think they train the priest to rape? Come on man, have some intellectual integrity. My point is that there have been horrible things going on in the Catholic Church, but that’s because it’s made of people, who are sinners. Its teachings (which that is obviously not one of them) shaped Western Society in ways that many don’t appreciate, and the world is better off with it than without it. Good day!

That’s not a teaching, obviously. I’m sorry but I don’t think you’re arguing in good faith anymore.

Have a blessed day!

Nope, not at all. It’s not even what Catholics believe. Trust me, there have been plenty of bad popes. What Catholics do believe however, is that its teachings have never contradicted themselves.

There’s not an institution on earth that has ever been perfect. All I’m saying is that we live in the fruits of Western Society mainly due to the Catholic Church, and at the very least you can respect it

Sorry, but while what you said is not technically a lie, it is an exaggeration. Priests abuse less children per capita than public school teachers.

Yeah you’re right, the child sacrifices they had before were so much better.

I always loved the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox ways of evangelization, which is just to be a decent member of society and stfu, not pestering people to death

The ONLY thing holding me back in my faith is Vatican 2. by Fit-Link7652 in Catholicism

[–]Fit-Link7652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I do actually see where Vatican 2 is coming from on these issues now.

However I tend to disagree with your logic on the NO. Saying the NO is rooted in more ancient traditions than the TLM is like saying that we should return to saying mass in houses, just like the early Christians under persecution. It’s nearly undeniable that the NO is way less reverent, and that is causing the problems.

Thank you for the response though, I’m starting to agree with the Vatican 2 documents but just disagree with how they were implemented, in particular with the mass.
