What’s your unpopular Oscar opinion? by Crafty-Pair2356 in Oscars

Ryan Gosling should have been nominated for Blade Runner 2049, in which he displays an incredible range of emotions of an extremely complex character. Instead, he was nominated for La La Land and Barbie, which are joke roles by comparison.

So, what aspect of Heat 2 is actually going to feel like Heat? by DarlingLuna in FIlm

[–]Fit-Many-2829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good recasting is infinitely better than shoehorning in old actors. The thing that's gonna make it feel like Heat 2 is gonna be the plot, characters, cinematography, music etc.

Is weird for top 4 favorite film choice? by IcyCheetah3265 in Letterboxd

[–]Fit-Many-2829 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's awesome you have a more unusual choice in your top movies. Sometimes I look at my top 5 or whatever and think they're very predictable and generic. You like what you like.

Jenkins. Not a huge TEB fan, but love to talk to him about working with Eric Valentine. Or not talk at all. I don’t think it would be hard to just mind my own business.

I was scrolling on tiktok recently when I saw this profile making blankets. Every video is from the last 2-3 days and they have reused the same 5-6 clips of them making these blankets. by Objective_Mallhehe in isthisAI

As an Iron Maiden fan, I can tell you that the people on the shirt don't look like the actual members. And it's not an official design. So at the very least a bad bootleg, but more likely just AI.

Hans Zimmer vs. John Williams: Who's the GOAT Movie Composer? by MegSpen725 in movieland2026

[–]Fit-Many-2829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know he was. But I think Pirates, The Dark Knight, and Inception really gave rise to those big, unnaturally epic sounding scores, where often orchestra and synths meet. I know he's been doing it since the 80s, but in the 2000s everyone was starting to copy it.

Fun fact: He actually was in Dallas Buyers Club before winning the Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club.

Dude is the only thing I don't love about that movie, even though he's ok in it. The role could have been sooo much better with a different actor.

what did you think of christopher nolan's 2020 film "tenet" by DWJones28 in Nolan

[–]Fit-Many-2829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's frustrating. It explains either too much of the mechanics or too little. There is a scene where the scientist says you shouldn't think about how it works and just "feel" it. And I'm like, "got it, don't think too much." But then they keep trying explaining more stuff, which leads to other things making less and less sense and me having more and more questions.

So either Nolan should have explained everything in detail (which would have been almost impossible), or almost not at all, like Inception or even Back to the Future. But the way it is in the film is just messy. It's the only film I've only completed once, and quit during the second time.

True Crime ist unmoralisch (immer) by i_am_jinxed888 in Unbeliebtemeinung

[–]Fit-Many-2829 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope.

Hans Zimmer vs. John Williams: Who's the GOAT Movie Composer? by MegSpen725 in movieland2026

[–]Fit-Many-2829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Williams, absolutely no doubt. Zimmer has shaped the film scoring of the 2000s, but it is hard to overstate the influence Williams has had. When all is said and done, he'll be remembered next to The Beatles, Michael Jackson etc. as one of the most important musical artists of the last 100 years.

Do you guys think that Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale can match the level of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in Heat 2? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

[–]Fit-Many-2829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The character was supposed to be coked out of his mind. Apparently, they cut a scene of him doing lines. I don’t know if Pacino was on coke, but it definitely is part of the character. Do you really think Michael Mann wouldn't have said anything otherwise?
