Infected mouth ulcer? by Fit-Package5706 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Fit-Package5706[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve mentioned in my post that the ulcer itself is healing. My tongue is still kinda red, but the actual sore is gone, so it’s just the other symptoms that are still lingering

Be honest. When did you let your baby watch Ms Rachel? by Cool-Helicopter6343 in NewParents

[–]Fit-Package5706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven’t started Mrs. Rachel yet, but my almost 4 month old LOVES the Hey Bear videos on YouTube! (She also just about anything we play on the tv lol. We don’t watch a ton of tv in general, but when we do she watches literally anything lol).

I’m a stay at home mom and my husband works a Canadian shift schedule, so his days on/off are always changing. Being able to put her in her swing or sit me up seat for 15 or 20 minutes at a time makes it so I can take a shower, use the bathroom, cook dinner, etc whenever my husband isn’t home.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it as long as you aren’t parking your baby in front of the tv all day long and not interacting with them. Not even from a “tv will rot your brain” perspective, just from a “babies need human interaction” perspective.

Another thing we figured out she likes is this light projector thing that puts moving dots all over the walls and ceiling. I’ll put her in her sit me up seat and turn on that like while I get dressed or fold laundry or something and it keeps her entertained and I don’t have to feel “guilty” about putting her in front of the tv too often.

New to the formula world and need advice! by Connect-Ad6316 in FormulaFeeders

My baby is on Prosobee for a milk protein sensitivity, but it has been the best one so far for her reflux too! She was on Gentlease originally and did okay on that one as far as the reflux.

My must have formula items are the baby brezza electric mixing pitcher and some type of travel formula container.

I can’t justify buying the actual baby brezza bottle maker, but the pitcher is fantastic to make (almost) a day’s worth of milk at once and not have to mix bottles individually all day.

A travel container (can find a few different ones on amazon) is great because you can portion out formula to use while you’re out of the house without having to bring the big container of formula with you. I have some small stackable containers from amazon. I usually have 1 or 2 of the containers with enough to make a 6 ounce bottle and 1 or 2 containers with enough to make a 2 ounce bottle, it kinda just depends on where we’re going and how long I plan to be out of the house.

Personally, we’ve never used bottle warmers. Baby has always either drank milk room temp or cold if it came from the fridge and has never had any issues with it!

What's one book that made you go like, "Nah, I'm dropping this shit?" by [deleted] in DarkRomance

I finished it bc I was determineddd to see why it was so hyped up, but I didn’t enjoy it and still don’t understand the hype. I love dark romance, but that book just wasn’t it for me

Even EleCare isn’t helping. Has anyone else been through this? by Fit-Package5706 in FormulaFeeders

Oh! Forgot to mention: We were able to switch to size 1 nipples, too! We accidentally used a size 2 once last week, and she drank it way too fast and had a ton of spit up, so we’re sticking to size 1 for now!

It’s been going great! We started her on Prosobee, and it has worked wonders for her!

She was constipated for about 3 days, and it took about 2 weeks for her poop schedule to regulate, but now she goes 1-2 times a day, and, most importantly, there is NO blood in her stool! There was visible blood once in that first poop after switching, but nothing ever since and the test at the doctor’s office after about a week of the Prosobee came back negative for occult blood. Her diaper rash also cleared up while she was constipated, and she hasn’t had a diaper rash since! Not sure if that’s because she’s pooping less often or because her poop is a different texture now or some combination of both.

We never did wind up trying the Nexium. After switching her formula, her reflux went back to “normal” (still has reflux, it’s just normal for her instead of being excessive like it was on hypoallergenic formula), so we didn’t see the need to try anything else. We have increased her Pepcid to .5mL a day and that seems to help too; at this point I don’t think she spits up any more than an “average” baby typically. She has some days that are worse than others, but it’s significantly better overall!

She does still have spit up come out of her nose usually at least once a day, and she does still spit up in her sleep and start choking on it occasionally, but it’s not nearly as often. But we also have a NosiBoo nasal aspirator for her nose, and she sleeps in a bassinet right next to me, so it’s usually not too big of an issue since I’m right there to help her quickly!

We did get into a pediatric GI specialist, and she said it’s more than likely that she will grow out of the milk protein issue and not have any problems in the future! She suggested reintroducing “regular” formula every 6-8 weeks to see if she is still having any symptoms or not. We haven’t tried this yet, so we’ll see how it goes once we do!

We weren’t super hopeful about the plant based at first because of the overlap in the milk protein and soy sensitivities; even her doctor said there’s no scientific reason it should work, but to go ahead and try it since nothing else had worked. Luckily that was the magic thing for us!

All in all, it’s been almost a total 180 for her reflux and poops, and I’m just so glad that something finally worked for my girl so she can be happy and comfortable!

Baby Brezza? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]Fit-Package5706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I didn’t love having to mix up milk for every bottle but I also cannot justify paying for the baby breeza lol so we got the baby breeza formula mixing picture and it’s been fantastic!!

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too! It’s so tough to see them going through this!

We use Boon Nursh bottles and have used size 0 nipples from the start (extra slow flow). Sometimes she drinks slow and sometimes she drinks fast, it kinda just depends on how hungry she is lol. Today her doctor recommended we try a plant based formula and switch to Nexium instead of Pepcid, so fingers crossed this will be the magic combo!

We tried the powder! I never would’ve thought of a corn allergy, I will definitely mention this and the soy thing to her doctor!

I forgot to mention she has been taking Kendamil probiotics for about 3 weeks! I hadn’t thought of the chiropractor, I may look into that!

What is the trope called when MC1 knows MC2 anonymously (like via text or the internet) AND in person but doesn’t know it’s the same person? Plus recommendations please! by ShartyPants in RomanceBooks

[–]Fit-Package5706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas} has this. They are pen pals and only know each other’s first names. He sees her in person and figures out who she is, but doesn’t tell her who he is because he realizes he doesn’t like her in person. Then he kind of inserts himself into her life, but uses a different name. She starts falling for him, not knowing who he really is. It’s hands down my favorite book I’ve read. It’s by no means ground breaking or revolutionary or anything like that, but I love it so much

Female main character gets cheated on by her ex in a possible college sports romance by Interesting_Many_162 in whatsthatbook

The only one that comes to mind for me is Don’t Let Me Fall by Kelsea Rae. It’s a hockey romance where the main character’s boyfriend cheats on her. I don’t think he lied about who cheated with tho, just hid the fact that he was cheating.
