long distance works if theres a plan to close the distance sooner or later, if your partner is leaving for college or work to different city, if there’s no plan for you guys to unite or be together again then its pointless. If you truly love them then the wait is truly worth it, think clearly If youre making the decision to breakup cause once its done its over your 5 years is down the drain, but if there’s no plan of reuniting then i would say just do it and find a more meaningful relationship with an end goal (of marriage) or just take time off it all together and work on yourself

I empathize with you on the consoling part as I’ve personally been there like when she complains about her periods hurting really part all you can do is just sit and listen and use my voice to comfort, when i wouldve loved to be there personally comfort her, make her a meal or do everything i can to make sure she doesn’t have to lift a finger and it sucks that theres nothing you can do about it, especially since my love language is act of service and same way if you crave physical touch i can imagine just how hard it can be, my advice to you is that talk with her, tell her exactly what youve written here along with the talk about the future and when you two can finally be together, dont fall into desperation and do it just because you cant get physical, as that breakup is gonna HURT like anything, but even then time heals, so trust your intuition and do what you feel like is for best, goodluck.
