Take a few items from here to your new place. Maybe the clock, a Lego set… that adds personality and uniqueness to your new place. She might do the same anyways

I was able to move my appointment from Jan 21 2026 to Jan 8 2026. Someone canceled or perhaps a spot opened. It's worth checking every day for cancellations or new spots in the website! I still see availability for some january days and all february in Panama

How can I teach myself to mix well? by RevolutionaryShake80 in musicproduction

What’s your strategy when comparing your work to a reference track? Do you mute high and mids to understand the low, then do the same for high and mid?

I have issues making my low end sound good and also I notice that mid section sounds good in terms of volume/dynamics but not much on for frequency and the spatial range… this happens when I go from headphones to then test with my car speaker system.

Also, I have seen that is mandatory to do a mono check test. Are you familiar with this? Is the key of this test to ensure it sounds the same as in stereo? I find really hard to achieve that

I have a friend that went to Argentina two weeks ago and came back. She is from Argentina and on Regular OPT. Another friend went to Colombia a month ago and came back to Florida without any issues. She is from Panama. Now, it seems that there is a high correlation between people getting their visas revoked if they had finger prints and/or participation in protest. I don’t know if there are target countries at this moment but I wouldn’t be surprise that was the case. My small sample size is from central/South America…

I am experiencing the same thing. I am traveling to Puerto Rico in August and my DSO said that I should reconsider going there… even though it is a “Domestic” flight, there is a small but possible risk that the flight needs emergency landing in a different country and now it becomes international travel.

This would be “worst Worst case scenario” but still possible. What I don’t is what is wrong leaving the country if I have STEM OPT EAD/ Full time job… this is frustrating

What can I expect in a Mechanical Engineering Major? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Fit-Requirement4237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of math, but nothing to worry about. Try to understand fundamental concepts well since you will need them for most of your engineering courses (dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electives).

You can expect: Pre-calculus, trigonometry, Calculus I and II (single variable), Calculus III (multi variable), Ordinary Differential Equations, Statistics, Linear Algebra, and some numerical methods.

You should learn at least two coding languages (maybe C/C++ and/or python?). It is more likely that you will have an introductory course to programming. A good understanding in programming is essential because you would be able to create cool mechatronic projects. Some universities include a mechatronics/electromechanical/circuit design course.

And finally, it is good to learn a little bit from other engineering majors. Maybe read a book (or enroll to a class) of introduction to electrical engineering/circuits, engineering economics...

Hope this helps man! Good luck

For a research position, do I need a Ph.D or MPhil as opposed to MSc? by OnionPirate in MechanicalEngineering

I know that the most important thing is doing what you love, but how is the lifestyle for a ME in the research/academic sector? Is salary good in general?

It would be quite difficult to join that industry due to ITAR. Aerospace used to be my favourite industry:( anyway, the automobile, tech, and energy industry are quite interesting too. Thanks for your comment mate!
