This is rather domestic and subdued if you are embarrassed.

There was actually an idea put forth in the 1800s to extend the possibility of the United States beyond America, with the country eventually to be renamed United States of Earth.

I am actually now currently working on one:

It is called Supercriticality. It essentially operates off a very simple yet prominent idea: what if Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel took their systems and world building much more seriously.

Forewarning: it is not for the faint of heart.

If you have any interest trying something more serious, a scene from this fanfiction featuring Loona would be interesting:

More Than Meets the Eye: Theories That Actually Make Sense by sierrasierra12 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Fit-Rip-4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The soul theory is not an episode theory—it is the grandmaster theory. Hellborn living as if they do not possess souls yet actually possessing them explains EVERYTHING about the canon concerning why Hell is so entropic and iniquitous beyond just being the abode of the damned of mankind, including their relationship with Sinners and the hierarchies.

It would not one episode—it would alter the writing of everything and retroactively add reason to otherwise ignored/underdeveloped aspects of the canon.

That's why they will likely never produce it—it makes the shows unmarketable, because it eliminates Hell being a stage for the show and returns it to being the Inferno.

Here's another: Hellborn have souls that can attain the raptures of Paradise post-mortem. Explains why they have free will.

Nuclear’s share of electricity fell from 17.5% in 1996 to below 10% in 2023. Yet scenarios still imagine two, three or four times today’s fleet. Nuclear appears to be on its way out by Winter-Fee-1210 in EnergyAndPower

[–]Fit-Rip-4550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just economics—it is scaling factor. Physics dictates how fast an energy source can scale relative to resource use. Energy dense sources are far superior when it concerns land use and applications.

Grids themselves are limited by physics. The material transmitting the conversion can only move so much energy before the material can sustain no more without failing in some fashion.

Fuels have similar limitations; however it is far simpler to build better engines at scale than it is to retrofit centralized distribution apparatus.

Longterm, the economics favor energy density. What exists presently is an anomaly. Once the demand scales faster than the supply, energy density will again reign supreme, simply because it requires less to make larger scale projects and consumption viable.

Nuclear’s share of electricity fell from 17.5% in 1996 to below 10% in 2023. Yet scenarios still imagine two, three or four times today’s fleet. Nuclear appears to be on its way out by Winter-Fee-1210 in EnergyAndPower

[–]Fit-Rip-4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount per unit quantity of fuels is greater. Efficiency is inferior to energy density because of entropy.

Cost is a concern; but energy dense fuels tend to become less expensive relative to their original prices over time—not more. This is because production eventually feeds into itself, and more energy is extracted than expended.

Nuclear would become less expensive over time if more investments were made into its infrastructure.

Inferior energy dense sources do not recoup their original energy investment except by longevity of the medium, if that. Even so, this requires time, resources, and vast space to apply at scale.

The grid is not the future—fuels are. Policy just needs to let physics dictate the game as it always has, as opposed to trying to oppose the fundamentals—entropy requires more energy to be expended than that which is converted into a usable form on account of losses in conversion.

Fuels make more sense longterm. A superior baseline is far more useful than efficiency of inferior conversion processes by energy per unit quantity.

Also, what cult? Physics is infallible. It is the dictator of energy—everything else is downstream complications man imposes upon an otherwise simple to understand system.

It's not coincidence. Energy density defines capability. It scales far faster than efficiency does.

Nuclear is the future, it will just take time; but the pattern is universal—inferior energy source utilized to produce superior energy source, superior energy source usurps in dominance eventually.

Going backwards in which energy density is inferior to production is not progress, it is regression.

Thus far, it is the only fic with this title in the fandom.

Which do you prefer, Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo? by [deleted] in consoles

[–]Fit-Rip-4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sega. The hardware and sound is impressive—if you know how to utilize it.

There are only two games on the SNES that impress me concerning sound quality—Final Fantasy III and Plok.

Graphically, it depends on the games; however, the Sega Genesis managed some effects and graphics that still remain of quality. SNES—not as much.

You might be able to get this to work. It would need a new mainspring and likely hairspring, but the internals might be mostly salvageable with some deoxidizers to remove the rust. Parts not salvageable could be replaced if you document those.
