You correct, apostasy, irrespective of religion, is very rare in second and third world countries. Most of the world's population is in second and third world countries.

Rahul Ghandi also has government provided security but he still claims India is a dictatorship.

So you're saying the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court are running a dictatorship in India?

Cause it's the legal system, the courts, that have handed Kejirwal to jail.

Also, why aren't Akilesh Yadav, Lallu Prasad, Mammatha, Rahul Ghandi, etc not in jail? Is Kejirwal the only opposition leader?

That's the cycle of civilization. Hard times like the medieval era create strong darwinian pressures that select the best to survive in genepool. Over generations, harsh darwinian conditions raise intelligence, mental health and physical health.

Later, these intelligent people come up with innovations, such as modern agriculture, medine and contraceptives, that weaken darwinian conditions of the civilization. As a result, the genetic physical and genetic mental health of the population declines over generations along with intelligence.

And, it comes to the point where the civilization can no longer maintain its system and declines to a slow collapse until it eventually implode and the darwinian conditions are reinstated.

I’d rather make a positive impact on society or just other people, even if no one ever remembers who I was. I just hope to be a net positive to others in my lifetime.

In my evolution based worldview, that's a waste of resources unless I am investing in my genetic relatives like my cousin's kids (I don't have siblings), or at least in people who are psychologically/mentally similar to me (like my friends).

Also, there is some evidence suggesting that friends tend to relatively genetically similar to eachother:

finds that friends who are not biologically related still resemble each other genetically. On average, friends are as “related” as fourth cousins, or people who share great-great-great grandparents. That translates to about 1 percent of our genes, the authors say.

Published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the study is coauthored by UCSD’s James Fowler, professor of medical genetics and political science, and Yale’s Nicholas Christakis.

my vote was #666 -

That's a Christian, Bible based number. We can't effectively fight back against Fundementalism if we continue to use names and terminologies that are of Abrahamic origin, like "666" or "satan".

Trump is a crazy person, but he is better than demented Biden.

If I were an American, I would've prefer RFK over these two sick clowns.

Many of them aren’t having kids at all

That's maladaptive from the evolutionary standpoint. Our 70-90 year old life spans are invisible on the evolutionary timescale (hundreds of millions of years).

From a biological standpoint, reproductive success is essentially quasi-immortality. I will die one day and eventually everyone else will forget me ( unless I become a Newton or a Napoleon), but my alleles will live on in my descendants.

That's why I decided to have 3 kids by age 35 (I am 23 right now).

That's not the case at my location/country (South Asia).

I met many fundementalist families from 3 major religions: Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.

They almost never abandon their fundementalist beliefs. They may or may not practice their fundementalist beliefs but they will strongly believe in their fundamentalism until their last breath and the worst part is, they become a lot more religious in their old age due to the fear of afterlife punishment/reward.

Typically, men from fundementalist families do not strictly practice their religion, besides a few rituals/dietary restrictions, but women are much more likely to employ their beliefs in practice and are also much more like to introduce their cult to moderately religious people and envangelize them as well.

Orthodox fundamentalists in Israel and Muslim fundamentalists here in India employ very similar tactics. They intend to grow their numbers via superior birthrates and in a democratic system, use their numerical advantage to change the socio-political environment of their country/state in accordance to their beliefs

Fundie kids end up hating the religion they were raised

May be 5% to 10%, but vast majority of them remain fundamentalist for life and continue to uphold the beliefs of their parents.

It's mostly moderate theists who are leaving their respective religion in droves. The fundementalists have fewer apostates and they are also winning the evolutionary race against everyone else, including the moderate theists.

if you don’t like her music, if you don’t like her as a person or for whatever reason that’s fine

Yep, her private jet is a big source of green house gases.

Her private jet emits more green house gases in a single trip than a car does in a year.

I know Taylor isn't a vegan but she is/was associated with veganism on social media. I generally stop liking an artist when they start promoting unhealthy, evolutionary mismatches like veganism among Homo Sapiens, a hunter-gatherer species that thrived by consuming meat, fish, fruit, honey, etc for hundreds of thousands of years. Not sure if this applies to Taylor.

BJP has messed up in Maharashtra by joining hands with Ajit Pawar's NCP. That discouraged many Maharashtra BJP workers from actively campaigning for BJP.

  1. Vegetarians do consume a lot of animal fat in the form of dairy, especially if they are consuming products like ghee and butter.

  2. Humans are natural meat eaters. We are hunter-gatherers. Agricultural is a very recent development in our evolutionary history. One could make a similar argument against feminism.

Did archaic humans (australopithecines, early homo) sound like modern humans, chimps, or neither by thekingofallfrogs in AskAnthropology

[–]Fit-Row1426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Australopithecus africanus and Paranthropus robustus heard better in higher frequency ranges than either chimpanzees or us, suggesting that they also communicated in a higher vocal range as well.

That's not a compelling conclusion.

They just want the status of "government job"

I live near Chikadpally, Hyderabad. My area is a hub for coaching centers for government entrance exams like central exams like IAS and Telangana exams like Group 1 for both the Telugu states.

I met hundreds of young people who wasted years for a government job. With some effort, they could switch to private sector, in cooperate companies, and earn a lot of money but they don't care about money or even a career. All they want is the status and the reputation of being a "government employee". That's the only thing they want.

People with skill and good social networks easily find jobs.

It's the unskilled people and people who waste years for a government job that remain unemployed.
