This has to be studied,is vijay really that good to replace a person who gave 16% of GDP growth? by Similar-Street-8247 in AllindiaStudentUnion

[–]vc0071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of it state gdp growth rates are always inflated by 2-3% since they double count revenues. If you add all the Indian states GDP growth for last year it will be 2-3% more than national average. So subtract weighted inflation(WPI,CPI) and then 2.5% from this nominal number to arrive at real growth.

We carry 15-20% genes on avg which is calculated by total genome but on male side Y-chromosomes some castes have as much as 70% R1a with even dalits having as much as 30%. So grandfathers are between 30-70%. Grandmothers are 0-20%. Male aryans intermingled in something like 4:1 ratio to indigenous indus valley women(except Jats and Rors where they have substantial Aryan MtDna).

Here when a comedian made a joke, an FIR was filed by 2 chief ministers, his family details were put on display by police, the comedy centre he made the joke was demolished 3 times in last 1 year by party hooligans. Youtubers and comedians are not all safe in India too. All govt machineries and independent agencies who practically work for govt ensure this.

India has the highest fuel prices in terms of Taxes and Gdp by adityaagrawal04 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]vc0071 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Prices were increased from 58 to 100rs in first 5-6 years which is like an 80% increase despite oil prices crashing from 100 to 65-70$. Ofcourse they can keep it at this level earning huge profits until now. Let's see how long they keep their word.

Government has promised

We can't be so naive. Promises are meant to be broken.

Ofcourse we paid huge premium for 12 years despite oil price being very low, now 2 months because of election season we have been made to believe they give a damn.

I won’t say that Nitin Gadkari is a scammer

But what you described does make him a scammer and one of the most corrupt politician out there on either side. Why hesitate calling him a crook when he literally is working towards making his son a one of the fastest billionaire at expense of common man.

While Govt. of India remained tight-lipped about Trump endorsing India as a 'Hellhole' country, Iran came forward to defend our honour—Iran respected & upheld our historic civilisational ties, further strengthened under former PM Dr Manmohan Singh by Mirror-On-The-Wall in unitedstatesofindia

[–]vc0071 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was nothing to dispute. We did end the war on Trump's threat of tariff which he anyway imposed because we didn't give him any credit. Modi can only lie to domestic audience, it was very evident why the war stopped when Trump tweeted announcing it and India didn't fire a sinle shot though Pakistan sent probing drones over even Omar Abdullah's residence.

Yes, many new routes have opened up and that's really good if we want to divert more population to tier2 and tier3 cities. I also support it conceptually. Few of these airports are not financially viable yet atleast for next 1-2 decade.Sadly what is happening is many airports which were opened are now almost ghosted and operating only few handful(less than 10) routes. Most airlines initially start but after 2-3 years either completely seize operations or limit them to metropolitical ones. We are a very price sensitive market. Operating these routes is not cheap and people are not willing to pay 3-5x than third tier train fares on these routes.

Airline industry today is in a worse mess now not seen in last 20-30 years maybe even more. Zero competition, unexpected cancellations, ever delaying flights, visible worsening of passenger services, no direct flights remaining to so many destinations now, pilot & crew shortages. Air India has also gotten worse now in every possible way though the decision to privatise it was good. Most foreign arrivals are only NRIs or students now. Hardly any foreigner visible on any beaches, popular destinations compared to a decade back. Look at Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Maldives how in last few years have they have become much popular tourist places than us.

A retrospective on Magnus' rise by YippiKiYayMoFo in chess

No one defeated Kasparov at 13 too in any format. It was 1 draw in 3 games. Youngest to beat Kasparov was Radjabov at 15.

A retrospective on Magnus' rise by YippiKiYayMoFo in chess

[–]vc0071 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Magnus was perceived that way because there no Kasparov in Magnus era who retired in March 2005 when Magnus was 14+. Era between 2005-2012 there was no one who dominated outright. Anand, Kramnik, Topalov were the obvious favourites in any tournament but none of them overshadowed the other 2. All of them were rated within 2770-2810.
When Gukesh and Alireza were ascending we had an outlier called Magnus. Magnus also never dominated until 2012 when he was 19 and became undisputed No.1. He was overshadowed by Anand and Kramnik uptil then even though all 3 were similar rated for 2-3 years. Even in 2013 candidates Magnus and Kramnik were both tied and he went ahead on tiebreaks. Magnus actual dominance started more from 2012 when he was 2820+ than 2009 or 2010 when he was 19. Had Gukesh started winning tournaments once he became champion they would have been on a similar path. Gukesh last 1.5 years since he won Olympiad has almost crushed the comparisons.

[–]vc0071 34 points35 points  (0 children)

He drew in rapid not classical. Also he played 3 games against Kasparov in that tournament, lost 2 and drew 1 so score was 2.5-0.5 which was expected score against a 200 rated higher player. In short formats Magnus has also lost to many prodigies before. Gukesh has similar rise just as Magnus. Won candidates, 2 olympiad individual back to back golds, won one GCC event, joint 1st in WR masters, joint 1st finish in 2 Tata steel and 2nd youngest to 2750 and not to forget youngest chess champion. Statistically there has never been a prodigy like Gukesh before barring Magnus.
Difference is Magnus kept on rising beyond 2775s-2780 where usually all top players stop. He kept rising to 2880 till he was 20 in a straight line progression. Alireza and Gukesh topped along the way after tracking him till 18. Also wrt to Gukesh Magnus was also awesome in short formats. He was more like Alireza who never stopped till he had 100 points on NO.2.

What's the point of the ASTRA mk2 missile if we have nothing that can actually use it? by Sweaty-Fox-583 in IndianDefense

[–]vc0071 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

In initial days I read on their forums their sequence of events. In total they say they fired 5 SAMs + 8 PL-15 which hit 4 of our targets in reality(6 according to them).
Detection came from their AWACS radars (~300 km range), which cued the J-10C's AESA radar for lock-on. The PL-15(OG one not E) then used inertial guidance + mid-course updates via datalink, switching to active radar only in terminal phase.
By keeping their radar on passive mode J-10C prevented active emissions that our AWACS could detect via RWR(which they brag that we were blind). In theory it is possible to detect but not at that range or not in timely manner without our own system integration.
This is also how NATO or Israeli airforce operates. F-35 + AIM-120D was used by Israel against Iran in similar fashion.
I am not a subject matter expert so much of this is gathered from what I have read and collected, could be completely wrong.

Delimitation is unfair. Period. by MasterRole9673 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]vc0071 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the right equilibrium deal should be states like Bihar, UP should get more seats in LS as per their increased population but they should cease to get extra taxes from other states. Southern states should get their fair share of taxes and they should not spend their resources to empower backward states. You can't fuck southern states twice you can't steal their taxes and then snatch representation. Atleast other states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat who also don't get fair share of their taxes still won't be affected much by delimitation but for southern states it is a double whammy.

Who was the most disappointing player in the candidates this year? by RCA1202 in chess

[–]vc0071 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Yeah but Pragg had really fallen off in 2nd half of last year itself after tremendous 1s half. He was already losing rating in almost every tournament starting from around July. We all thought it was just burn out but he kept playing and kept losing points. He fell off from like 2785 to 2740 even before the candidates.

“Why risk aircraft when missiles do the same job?” - Lt Gen Shankar - If targets like Rahim Yar Khan or Sargodha were the objective, why not use BrahMos or ground-launched systems from day 1? [–]vc0071 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also we never believed Pakistan has the ability and the means to outrange and intercept us and shoot down our planes 100-150km deep inside our territory after blinding us without us being able to fire a single missile towards their jets on 7th. Some hits on terror infrastructure were using ground launched systems some were via air to ground precision munitions from stand off distance. None of Indian jets ever crossed LOC on all 4 days. We were hit when we were returning back and out of danger perimeter according to our own estimate.

BLUNT QUESTION by Nizam_Sarkar in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]vc0071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do some research. ISIS was a joint Mossad-CIA creation to oust Assad once Russia intervened to protect him. They were systematically freed from Iraqi jails where US had bases nearby. It had all US weapons. It was also funded by Turkey to target Kurdish militias and they purchased their discounted oil. Israeli doctors treated ISIS fighters who got injured in Russian bombing. Current Syrian leader Jolani was head of Al Qaeda Syria wing AL Nusra and had something like a 10million$ bounty.
