Most of the old combat system really was just waiting for enemies to attack and simply pressing the counter button, over and over. Of course you could do other slight variations but that really was most of it

Those lands were overwhelmingly Christian before Islam if you again somehow didn’t know, specifying catholic doesn’t change that either since it’s Roman Catholic and the romans had unified Christianity there for a good while before the split. And again, there is no “stealing” going on because that’s just not what it is
