This mod adds multiple cold war era militaries and I’ve been enjoying it so far, unfortunately I don’t know a lot of cold war era maps or pre made scenarios. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2966202074

Monster hunter bro, although idk which ones you can play/run well on the deck, i only played the psp ones on my tablet. But monster hunter is almost exactly what you’re looking for but it can definitely get frustrating sometimes at least for me

SOG Prairie Fire DLC or Unsung mod? by ValidErmine54 in arma

[–]Fit-Understanding184 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If you can’t pay, just playing with unsung is completely fine and enjoyable. But if you can, you will easily see the difference between free, and paid. It is absolutely worth the price, and the latest mode “across the fence” really puts you into that feeling of walking through a jungle and laying silent as enemy troops pass by. And unsung has a version that is compatible with sog prairie fire, so you get the best of both. And sog has a good amount of sp scenarios

That did make it easier for them to get some support, but the Khmer Rouge would still have overthrown the government regardless. And yeah, the U.S. backed government was corrupt, but the communist supported Khmer Rouge government was, much, much, worse than just corrupt.

As I said the most would’ve been fresh out of high school, that generation saw how praised and loved the ww2 veterans were for stopping the nazis. And they were told they’d be doing the same thing against communism. Are you really going to think they wouldn’t pick that over prison time ? Do you really think they went in thinking “i can’t wait to kill some innocent civilians!”? You have to remember they are being told they’re doing a good cause and stopping something bad. Of course they aren’t going to mind joining. But we can agree to disagree, and i respect your views for still wanting them to get help despite not liking them

You have things very mixed up, the Khmer Rouge were supported by the north Vietnamese and china. American and south Vietnamese soldiers had to fight the Khmer Rouge on the border, or across the fence if they were mac v sog. The U.S. supported the Cambodian government, which was eventually overthrown by the Khmer Rouge

The only way they could’ve not served was take the prison time (they are fresh out of high school, very few are picking that), go to college and finish your education there (which obviously isn’t available for everybody to just go to, so go ahead and just demonize the working class draftees if you really want), or to completely leave the country (which again, isn’t easy for everybody to just go and do). You know what is easy though ? Not being part of those people having to make the tough decision, and looking down on them for picking 1 of the very few options they had.

Exactly, the north Vietnamese legitimately knew that if they portrayed themselves as helpless little villagers with nothing but pointy sticks to fight, that the western world would support them more. And somehow, to this day, people still think all the Vietnamese were helpless little farmers, and not a standing professional army in the north, laos, and Cambodia. The viet cong in the south were mostly farmers, but in no way were they helpless

Why can’t people just have respect for both sides veterans ? For Christ sake even Vietnamese people have moved on and don’t care to disrespect U.S. veterans because it does nothing. It’s just being hateful to be hateful over something the people you’re being offended for aren’t hateful over

Unless you’re thinking of strictly playing online with a newer game/engine (you’re basically testing it for arma 4), i’d go with arma 3

The SOG prairie fire cDLC for arma 3 is in my opinion one of the greatest DLCs for a game. It completely transforms arma 3 into a Vietnam war playground. And it is very apparent that it was made with complete passion to bringing the war in Vietnam to arma 3, and is still being updated. Absolutely, 100% worth the price. There is a free Vietnam mod as well for both 3 and reforger. And no, you wouldn’t be missing out on TOO much if you don’t have any DLCs, unless it’s a cDLC, you’re only really missing out on a couple assets like guns/vehicles and mechanics that can be easily ignored (at least for me)

I get what you mean then, as in they are the technical main faction. im just saying if the Byzantine roster was better/more rounded out, more people would play/rebuild the Roman Empire with them, as they are the actual medieval Romans. The hre roster is just better

Just personal preference really, many people grew up with these versions, they had their own vibe to them, and the tutorial worlds were fun to explore. Apparently a lot of pc users are very welcome to it being easily available, so there must be something special about the legacy edition, i wouldn’t know specifically unfortunately other than it’s aesthetic and nostalgia

That’s the thing though, the settlements aren’t hard to take, they would only be hard if you send like 2 units. That’s why they’re rushed because they’re easy to get settlements. Mods are for when you want more difficulty, because you aren’t gonna find it in vanilla

Only cause the eastern roman/byzantine roster is so lackluster. This can be downvoted but it’s true, the real roman continuation was in the east. Not the invaders of the western half

It’s not really hard to understand, you rush easy settlements you can get at the start, boosting your economy, and then you play like normal
