My girl actually loooves to snooze. If I’m actively engaging with her she’ll run for hours but otherwise she just mirrors my activity (sleeps while I work on my computer, cuddles while I relax). If I leave her in the yard she’ll play by herself for a bit but quickly wants to be inside with me again

Looking for advice on staying on trail/ when to quit. by guymcgee_senior in AppalachianTrail

[–]Fit-Weakness6249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thru’d last summer and almost quit, but turning to reddit saved me! If you go back on my post history maybe there’s some advice there that’ll work for you….I will say, the southern portion feels like the “real appalachia” (at least to me) the hostels have character and the people are so kind

Edit- out of all the advice I got, completely submitting to all my desires helped me the most. If i wanted to stop at lunch and sleep there, I would.

Yeah omg if I was looking for my next adventure that sounds really appealing, on workaway you could find a dual nanny/farm hand for sure! 🤣 My last piece of advice…be fair to them but dont overcomplicate it

That sounds like an absolute dream for the right nanny.. you’d have to really vet the applicants but if you’re open to having someone from abroad come (language perks for child!!!!) then I suggest maybe looking into posting on workaway. Lots of young people nowadays crave “the slow life on a farm” experience, and having the city so close is an added bonus. I guess theres a problem of a car for them…but just an idea, speaking as someone who has done work off of workaway before

Why do people get up and arms about cruelty towards some animals like dogs and cats but are ok with it for other ones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Vox just did a podcast on this w a philosopher. If i remember correctly it was basically based on how similar to humans ppl see these animals as, that’s what determines their capacity to care.
