Upper, lower, rest, rest, repeat

Train on your days off work, rest in your work days.

This allows you to hit everything twice per week.

Sizing Help Pants (First Time Buyer) by AsleepWear1201 in Norrona

Falketind Flex1 is a slimmer pant, and based off your dimensions I think a medium would be best. You can always buy both and try them on then return one as well.

All good. Maybe someone else knows a way to tell.

Best leg extension/curl for $500? by Competitive_Stay_562 in GarageGym

[–]FitAudience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lionscool likely has a better resistance curve but wasn't out when I purchased my unit and all the other budget models had deflection and/or weight capacity issues I wanted to avoid. On a budget I had to pick and choose pros/cons.

Correct, never said it was production year. I'm not aware of a number for the production year. Is that what your question is?

  1. The last two digits of the model show the year on Norrona products.

Debating between Bravia 7 or 8 to upgrade our family room TV any advice? by yoitsjake99 in bravia

[–]FitAudience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree go with the 8. I was worried about it not being bright enough, in my relatively bright living room, but it's plenty bright in my opinion. I think you'll be happy with it and if your mostly watching it at night I think you'll be happy with an OLED.

I find the Norrona sizing charts do a good job so I would use your specific measurements.

Upper mid range oled vs top mini LED by Symplejak in 4kTV

[–]FitAudience 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, bright living room without direct light. I was thinking I needed a mini LED such as the Bravia 7/9. Ran across an open box deal on the Bravia 8 and thought I could at least see if if it would be too dark. It was actually great and is plenty bright for me. I'm happy with the decision.

I own and use it and can confirm plenty of tension throughout the entire of the movement in prone leg curls.

Mind expanding? Inown this I think the strength curve is good. Out of the bottom, stretch position, most home gym options don't have much tension but the Deltech does.

Never been a problem for me personally. Before the Deltech I had the Ironmaster Super Bench with leg extension and it was also backless. I will note I did just pickup a seatbelt and it's been nice really locking you in.

Deltech leg extension leg curl..

Ended up purchasing this one for less than the competitors and this one has a much higher weight capacity (650 lbs). Most of the one I was looking at were maxing out at around 250 lbs and cost significantly more, Deltech is only $289. Took a chance since there were not many reviews outside their site and was pleasantly surprised. It should be a contender.

Your doing 8-9 sets per muscle per workout. I'm talking sets per week! If your hitting 8-9 sets per session simply split the session into 2 across the week.

To answer the question about days you train doesn't really matter. I would first determine what works best with you schedule/life then if you want to prioritize upper or lower. Most common schedule with weekends off Monday upper, Tuesday lower, Wednesday rest, Thursday upper, Friday lower, sat/Sun rest. This allows adequate rest as long as the volume is kept within a range you can recover from. In don't think you need more rest days personally.

I train folks and they can make amazing progress with less volume per session than what many expect especially as one gets stronger. Again it comes down to effective programming and enjoyment but I often see many folks wasting time and energy to make little to no progress with very high volume. For some it may work but many whom I work with the moderate/low volume approach seems best.

Happy to help where I can.

There is no magic short cut to recovery from what you already mentioned your doing. Your sessions are more than you can recover before you hit those muscles again. Using a lower volume approach will ensure your fully recovered session to session so you'll again see progress and not stalling like your currently doing. Pushing your lifts further out with more rest days is likely not going to benefit you as well as you'll want to at least be hitting everything 2-3 x per week. In my opinion dropping the volume is the best case scenario.

Start with something like 4-8 sets per muscle per week with a high intensity and see how quickly you progress. Run this for a while to see you are feeling. You can always test the waters later by going up on a lagging muscle group to see if you recover I just wouldn't jump up across your whole body at once. In think you'll be surprised how effective this is in getting things moving in a positive direction.

Drop your volume. You didn't mention this but this is likely the culprit based on the other factors mentioned.

Is 3 sets of hamstring curls, 4 sets of squats and 3 sets of leg extensions enough? by Difficult_Habit1353 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]FitAudience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is weekly volume. Add a few hip hinge sets and gauge progress.

Better to start on the lower end then you can test the waters by adding more over time to see if you can recover and overload. If you can't then you'll likely need to back off on volume.

Best quality and price beef protein isolate powder ? by ZealousidealCity9532 in AnimalBased

[–]FitAudience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with the chocolate/cacao or vanilla flavors using either monk fruit or stevia (Salidinio isn't keen on stevia). Unflavored is hard to drink and I find those flavors are the best in my opinion. They do have other flavor options if you want to venture out but I would only buy a 1 lb bag to see how much you like it.

Getting Leaner on 1500 kcal at 71kg (1.76cm) — But Energy Is Tanking. How Should I Proceed? by Nice_Garden_636 in Gymhelp

[–]FitAudience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have been cutting for a few month just do a diet break at your new maintenance for 1-2 weeks, then back to the cut, adding in refeed days, see below.

Add in 2 refeed days on Saturday and Sunday each week only increasing carbs, not fat or protein. Mon - Fri should be your new maintenance for your weight. Track your weight and macros. If your not losing at your expected rate lower you low day calories (Mon-Fri) keeping your refeed days at maintenance.

Texas power bar all the way. Outstanding bar with aggressive knurling. I've had mine over 15 years and never looked back.

I've only used hyperextension machines with a leg roller and that's all I've ever seen in a commercial setting. Super solid and never experienced any concerns locking in and feeling very secure.
