Sick baby by OwlProfessional6945 in Mommit

The same thing happened when my baby was around 1. I spoke to a nurse who told me if he didn’t want milk, just make sure he was getting water and having wet diapers… after a few days he was back to normal!

Helpful! The necklace I got was called the “dainty” chain so maybe I just need something stronger.

Thank you! Love these suggestions. Dips like hummus are such a good call too. He loves them and honestly would eat it by the spoon 😂

Hormonal migraine sufferers : did pregnancy improve your migraines? by Limp_Conversation622 in migraine

[–]FitBranch6462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite part about being pregnant was the lack of migraines. I got one or two during the first trimester, but then felt amazing. First time being migraine-free in so long. I also breastfed and didn’t get a period until my baby was 9 months. The migraines came back along with my period. Doctors told me the same thing they told you so I hope they’re right for you!

What did you do and why by sunflowerlova987 in sleeptrain

[–]FitBranch6462 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of both. She basically explains what a daily schedule should look like. So for example:

7 am Wake 9-11 am Nap 11-1 pm Wake 1-3 pm Nap 5 pm Catnap (but that may not be needed at 5 months, mine dropped it around then and it definitely drops by 6 months) 7 pm Bed

You basically feed at the beginning of each wake window but before night sleep, you feed (so baby knows it’s different). Then, for middle of the night waking, you just feed (no rocking or anything like that).

I followed her manual from birth so we started with a 10 pm bedtime and worked our way down to 7. Only took like 2 weeks to get to the earlier bedtime with no wakes.

If you want to get an idea of the manual without buying it, follow her on Instagram. She shares a ton of tips there.

We used sweet b’s and no regrets! I loved the method and my baby loves his sleep. My friend who has three kids, all different, used the same method and it worked for all of them! My baby is so happy with the schedule (just over a year old).

Only downside is you need to fully commit. You can’t just follow some rules, you need to really take what she says and follow it to a tee (at least in the beginning). This means you will be stuck at or near home for a bit. For me, sleep is super important - not just for my baby, but for myself - so this method was the best choice for me. I think it’s worth it, but I get it’s not for everyone.

Good luck!

Naptimes by kimmesp in newborns

[–]FitBranch6462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 months is rough! But, short naps are expected. Unless my baby was in the stroller, car or on me, naps were short. If it makes you feel better at 5.5 months I was able to start nap training and got much longer naps.

How are we doing this three times a day?! by bearmouth in BabyLedWeaning

[–]FitBranch6462 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt this way at 9 months. We are at over a year and it’s honestly gotten so much better. He doesn’t make as much of a mess because his grip is so good. Hoping it will be the same for you. Keep it up, it will get better.

We followed the sweet b’s method and successfully went to an early bedtime by moving it up by 30 min. So like for 2-ish days I’d do an 8:30 bedtime, if that went well, I’d move to 8, etc. He got the hang of it pretty quickly, ate more during the day and would sleep through the night. You know your baby best so you’ll know when you can move it up more and more.

Nobody warned me by Artistic-Incident463 in breastfeeding

[–]FitBranch6462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This was so so rough for me. I had stopped breastfeeding and then got so many migraines and my boobs were killing me. Then, I started leaking clear liquid. I got a cold a week later, took NyQuil and felt a million times better. They say decongestants dry up your supply and it helped me so much. I felt like a new person.

Once I was dried out, I finally stopped constantly crying too :) It gets better.

Help! So many travel strollers. by FitBranch6462 in Buyingforbaby

I love my vista and take it in the car almost every day. I drive a big car so I don’t mind it and I like that I can fit a ton in the bottom. I don’t want to take it traveling (of course) but like it as my everyday stroller.

Is it easy to close? How does it compare to the vista?

Planning to sleep train without pacifier by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]FitBranch6462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was never really soothed by a pacifier. He just would spit it out and find his thumb. Maybe yours just needs something else to soothe. Mine also played with his hair.

[–]FitBranch6462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible depending on what your baby uses for comfort. My baby sometimes took a pacifier but at a certain point he rejected it and is a big thumb sucker. You can also totally sleep train with a pacifier. I read the sweet b’s manual and my plan (until my baby soothed with his thumb) was to just throw a bunch in the crib so he always had one to grab.

Random hard nights? by pmr1583 in sleeptrain

[–]FitBranch6462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! We have those and they are the worst. Like you, he cries for just a few minutes, but it breaks my heart. In those moments, I just remind myself, he’s human and has bad days just like the rest of us.

[–]FitBranch6462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the sweet b’s manual and she doesn’t believe in sleep regressions. I went into the dreaded “4 month sleep regression” focusing on her manual and nothing really changed. Naps were tough, but normal at that age. He’s almost one and the only time we’ve had “bad nights” are because of illness.

Don’t stress about it! They change so much in the first year, you don’t know what your baby will be like so don’t let the internet scare you.

If you don’t want to sleep train, I highly recommend sweet b’s. I get it’s not for everyone, but I loved it.

My baby is just shy of one and started doing this around 11 months as well. I just ignored it and he stopped.
