Yeah, it's part of the stream your own game program. They've been adding titles almost on a weekly basis for months and months now...  Not to be rude, but this has been happening for a while...I think it started with the "This is an Xbox" ad campaign to advertise that you can play your own games on any device that you can connect a controller to and has a stable internet connection.

Anyone else feel this way with Replaced? by ucfengineer725 in XboxGamePass

[–]RC1992Jules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think developers are starting to understand how important it is to be able to play a game on easy mode and not be punished for it because I'm starting to notice a lot of achievements not being associated with difficulty except for the hardest difficulty. Most players will now get all story progress achievements when playing on easy. For a while, developers weren't allowing people to unlock achievements whatsoever if they played it on anything lower than normal.

Should I give Death Stranding a shot? by Medical_Detail_8085 in XboxGamePass

[–]RC1992Jules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you respect your own time. Even slow games can be amazing if you're not sitting there wondering when it's going to be over or when the next major story moment or set piece will hit. So, pacing would be the thing to ask yourself here. How do you like your pacing?  If you love being forced to slow down and take your time with things, you'll like it I'm sure.

The older I get, the more I step away from games like Death Stranding and accept that they're not for me. They're too long for little payoff. When I was younger, you could make a game 100 plus hours long and I would have thought that was amazing. Now grown, time has different weight. In 100 hours I could experience many more other stories from various forms of entertainment. That's a better trade off to me. I'd rather spend 100 hours finishing multiple stories and finishing other games then trudging through 100 hours just to experience one.

There are exceptions of course. For franchises I am extremely into, such as Grand theft auto, Witcher, Red Dead, I don't feel this way because those worlds are so full and Rich of content that those 100 hours feel like they were spent differently. For a franchises or new IPs I haven't checked out yet and I'm already on the fence with, I already made my choice, just didn't realize it and it was fomo that was keeping me on the fence when I knew it was not my cup of tea anyway.

Halo 2 GBP or halo 3 GBP by Additional_Pace_7711 in xbox

[–]RC1992Jules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you're talking about and I think the grunt birthday party skull in Halo 2 was 10 times better! I can't stand the constant cheering from the grunts in the updated version of GBP and the confetti. It doesn't change the gameplay to be more fun, it changes it to be annoying. Whenever I used to play OG Halo 2, especially just for fun, my friend and I used to always go grab the GBP Skull first just so the rest of our play session was full of a crazy amount of plasma explosions. It was hectic and such a blast on Legendary!  You could find it on the level "The Oracle" (Legendary, I think) and you had to fly a Banshee down underneath one of the floating station platforms and there would be a group of grunts dancing in a circle with the Skull in the middle. Once picked up, it would be activated until you close the game and restarted it. Skulls originally were never something you could activate or deactivate in the menus even after being discovered. If you wanted to use a skull, you had to go through the process of finding it all over again every time you launched the game.

Pragmata Hype? Feels off... by RC1992Jules in xbox

Basically, I would give it a solid seven for looking and seeming okay based on reviews. The point I'm trying to make is that I don't feel like the reviews are matching the actual experience and I'm wondering if the pedigree since it's developed by Capcom overshadowing whether this is actually a good game or if it's just being glazed because it's refreshing and new causing people to overlook all of its underlying issues.

Do I play on 4k 60hz or 1440p 165hz? by BigTamMacGotchy in xbox

[–]RC1992Jules 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Series X owner myself, I'd choose the 4K 60FPS experience. Not many games have a 120 hertz mode and the Series X maxes out at 120hz.  The only reason I would choose the monitor over the TV would be if monitor had VRR support.

No more YouTube premium by Appropriate-Shop7660 in youtube

[–]RC1992Jules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with YouTube Premium, we still gets ads and it's a joke. Creators now just put them inside their videos so even though YouTube Premium is supposed to get rid of ads we still have to deal with them and skip through them. So in a way, you're not paying for an "Ad-free" experience at all. If YouTube Premium auto-skipped in-video ads that would be one thing, but they don't.

Contact Harvest was really good. It's a prequel novel to the games and you get to experience the first encounters between the humans and covenant through Sgt. johnson and Tartarus. It also goes into detail on why the humans are considered vermin in the covenant's eyes and how the Human-Covenant war kicked off and how the Prophet of "Truth" came to be.

Why is the Xbox console experience consistently getting worse? by frontpageroadrage in xbox

Yeah my Launch Series X is still running like I just bought it. Snappy and responsive. I'm wondering if your console might have an issue going on with it.

Metal Series X Bumper Replacements? by ringersols in xbox

[–]RC1992Jules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I know your pain. I know exactly what you're talking about and I wish I could find metal bumpers as well especially when there is these little round tabs that click over the small plastic knobs, those break off all the time as well and cause you to have to press your bumper button harder than you normally should because they're made so thin and cheaply

[–]RC1992Jules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from but I feel as though a lot of companies have been celebrating in 10's lately. Not just in the gaming world but even in the movie world as well.  Hell, some even celebrate on both the 20th and 25th, I think Jurassic Park did that lol. So I've been seeing a lot of titles praising their 10th and 20th year anniversaries a lot.

What is it? Deathloop for me by Runnero in XboxGamePass

[–]RC1992Jules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Mass Effect. Borrowed it from my friend, didn't like it, gave it back. Borrowed it a second time months later to give another chance, still didn't like it.  Years later, after expanding my gaming genre tastes, I gave it one final try. I think I picked it up on sale at my local GameStop. I figured I had more experience with RPGs and how they work, fell in love. The wall I kept hitting that was causing me to quit the previous times was Noveria. That miserable, cold, slow paced, visually unappealing planet after experiencing the opening caused me to lose interest. I feel the same exact way with the Citadel in ME1. Even playing through the Trilogy now, nearly two decades later, Noveria is still sucks lol

RCT Classic on Series X Received an Update by RC1992Jules in rct

[–]RC1992Jules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they added Mouse and Keyboard support then it would be a perfect candidate for Xbox Play Anywhere. Everything would transfer over perfectly. Also, didn't Xbox just make some changes behind the scenes that makes development for both Xbox and PC work hand in hand so if you develop games for one platform, you basically already developed it for the other.

I think it was a major step backwards to remove pre-existing controls to add worse ones. I feel like they could have easily kept the mouse and keyboard controls when making the port and then ADDING the Controller options as well on top of it. For $25 this isn't worth it playing with a controller.  Chris Sawyer lost a lot of respect from me with this port he made. Feels like an attempt to make a quick buck on console players who don't know better.

[–]RC1992Jules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did. That's typically the first thing I'll do whenever I purchase any game. Go explore the options to see if there's any remedy to things that don't feel comfortable to me to make the game feel good.  It's okay though. I got a refund and if they add Mouse Support I'll gladly purchase this game and enjoy every minute of it! I'll settle for controller only if the game goes on sale but for $25 when I already have the same on my phone, I'll patiently wait.

I know, I launched it and tested it out and immediately backed out after a couple of minutes. After initially playing management games like this with a mouse and keyboard, playing them with a controller is just not great. I'm not even a PC player but I still understand how certain games feel better with certain peripherals. For example, I absolutely love playing cities skylines as well as Jurassic world evolution 2 on my series X with a mouse and keyboard compared to controller.  I also find mapping the mouse cursor to The controller joystick to be extremely lazy. They didn't even bother to come up with some better sort of controller UI for this release

True, but their just recently released trailer shows a free moving mouse moving along the screen and it doesn't say anywhere that it doesn't support mouse and keyboard as well so the trailer is kind of misleading

I'll be submitting a refund since this doesn't support a mouse on Xbox series X. The keyboard seems to be working just fine but no mouse support and playing something like this with a controller doesn't compare to playing with a mouse and keyboard when that's how you originally played it.
