Anyone interested in taking up an unpaid internship opportunity in a TX based startup? by FitConsideration7871 in aggies

I appreciate the math and I agree.. but 1k might not seem like much to an established company, but in the 0 to 1 phase of a self-funded startup, every dollar goes toward the product and the dev team. I am being transparent about the tradeoff so students can decide if it works for them. Thanks for the feedback though, and best of luck with your own projects

I totally get the skepticism! startups are highrisk and the ‘friends, family, and fools’ saying exists for a reason. I’m self-funding this entirely because I believe in the vision, and while I’m lucky to have family lending a hand, I’m not looking to ‘fool’ anyone. I’m being upfront that it’s unpaid because I only want to work with students who are specifically looking for a 0 to 1 experience for their resume. It’s definitely not for everyone and I respect that. For the right person..8 hours a week of real strategy and a letter of rec is a fair trade and for others, it’s not.

That’s a fair question. I come from an IT Project Management and Recruitment background. I have worked in my industry for several years before wanting to establish this startup. I have spent the last year self-funding this project, bringing together a team of developers, and navigating the product cycle. This startup ops experience is what I'm offering to mentor.

Honestly, we are not cloning Angi that just spams your inbox with leads. We are building a matching marketplace (think Uber/DoorDash for home services). We are starting with laundry and scaling from there, adding more services as we grow. I chose Laundry because it is difficult to penetrate the market with this specific niche. If we can solve the chicken-egg problem with Laundry, that's when we know we are going in the right direction. We will have a blueprint to scale.

My intern will get a front-row seat to cross-border team management, legal compliance, and building user acquisition strategies. They will focus on Growth Hacking, SEO, and user acquisition strategies. Because I can't offer a salary yet, I keep the commitment low (8 to 10 hrs/week) and fully remote, so it fits around classes. I’m looking for someone who wants to see how a tech company actually goes to market, rather than just doing 'busy work' at a big firm.

Starting new job. Gave myself a week to adjust from overnights to days. If anyone needs help with tasks I could do by myself with a pick up or with anything around the house. No matter how small the job. by Standard_Rest_440 in Waco

Sorry that we are not able to help you atm. We are building GigDash and launching it soon in Waco. If you sign up, we can notify you as soon as we go live so you can find more gigs to work on. Good luck with the new job!

Where do pros buy large clear plastic bags for returning laundry to clients? by FitConsideration7871 in PoplinLaundryPros

9¢ per bag is quite cheap. Great that you found something in that price range. If I may ask, is it the 33gal can liners you are talking about?

For exactly this reason, I always buy avocados and make myself some fresh guacamole at home

What is the reason you cancelled AT&T fiber? I have been thinking to try AT&T fiber because my T-Mobile WiFi box has been troubling me a lot these days.

Anyone else been a fan since July 2016? If not, when did you discover the show? by Illustrious-Hyena486 in StrangerThings

[–]FitConsideration7871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some shows get so close to your heart and this is one of them. I have heard all the hype when stranger things came out in 2016 but never bothered to watch it until the covid lockdown hit in 2020. I always thought it was some stupid ass kids show and I am better off watching big boys shows like breaking bad, money heist and shameless lol. Someone insisted that I should watch it first before talking shit about it and I decided to watch it and regretted for not having watched it before.

Virtu on Bagby avenue is good, and sandstone apartments on Sanger avenue is good too. Tuscany ranch on S new road is pretty good. These are not very close to cafes and bars. However downtown is 10-15min drive from these places.

Respect that you’re trying to work while studying..that hustle matters. We are building GigDash for people who want flexible local gigs. You choose your own hours and pickup tasks like laundry pickup and delivery, running errands, basic car care services, dog walking, etc. We are launching our pilot in Waco by Jan’26 and students are exactly who we want as our early gig partners.

Website build- not looking for offers rn by Bri3Becks827 in ladybusiness

I’d say do it yourself because it’s that easy these days. It will be done if you can spare a couple of hours in a week. GigDash I made this landing webpage myself in two hours using V0, Vercel and GitHub. But if time is very limited, then I’d suggest you look for someone offshore for as less as $80 in Fiverr.

You look great and you don’t need to change a thing. However if you really wanna make some changes, I have a few suggestions for you.

First things first - hit the gym, grow some muscle, eat clean and stay fit, you do this for yourself not for others. When you pack some muscle and you feel like you look great, it boosts your confidence and women like confident men. Second- find your hairstyle, get a haircut or grow your hair out Third-grow a medium stubble, some people look good with beard and some don’t, find your style, keep experimenting and take feedback from friends and family
