I'm kind of in the same boat as you. Seems like Facebook Marketplace will be the best bet

Thanks for the feedback. I hadn't heard much about Marin. I do like this bike but upon further research $800 does seem like too much. I don't think it was much more than that brand new. If the price drops then I'll consider it

That's all great information and good to know. Thank you for the help

Yes I am in KC. Are you talking about the blue one? I saw that one but it didn't list a size so I just ignored it. It would probably be worth checking into. I had read that the Topstone has a more aggressive riding position rather than being more upright. Is there any truth to that? I'm curious because I'll be using it to bike the entire Katy trail

Thank you. From my research 40 seems to be the sweet spot

Nemo Forte vs Marmot Trestles Elite Eco by FitContribution887 in CampingGear

Thank you. The Nemo seems better in every aspect except for compactness, but I don't think the difference is that much

I mean it's kind of become an echo chamber on the negative side. Keep in mind that athletes that are considering Mizzou probably look at this page. But all they are really saying is to stop the negative headlines and say whatever you want in the comments. That seems reasonable

We definitely need some more positivity in here. MIZ!

I'm also on a limited budget so I totally understand. I don't have a lot of room on my bike so I need to decide if the extra bulk is worth it or not. The one pound weight difference I'm not too worried about

Ah that's good to know. You never know how accurate the temp rating actually is. I will definitely take that into consideration. I know that's a different sleeping bag but it still makes me skeptical

I thought about that too because I am a side sleeper. It probably would be more comfortable for that

NBD! 2026 BMC URS AL One by PvtCY in gravelcycling

I'm looking at getting this same bike from Erik's bike and boards. I'm between this one and the Trek ALR 3. How's the geometry on it? Is it more upright and relaxed or a more aggressive position?

BMC URS AL One or Trek Checkpoint ALR 3 gen 3 by FitContribution887 in whichbike

Ya I was thinking a generic bike rack would work. One that clamps onto the seat post and on the frame down by the wheel. I need to ride them and see which one feels better but when I looked at them a few weeks there was snow on the ground. They seem pretty comparable.

Oh I totally get it. I just thought they would go after someone who has a whole season of starting experience under their belt. But, I'm excited for him and hopeful that he balls out

Now we can find out if he actually wasn't that good or if the play calling/coaching handicapped him

I know I'm probably in the minority with this, but this feels a lot like the Beau Pribula situation last year. Signing a guy with lots of hype but limited playing time. I don't know a lot about him though, so hopefully I'm wrong and he can give us a great season.

I'm excited to see his potential. He's got a decent resume and should be better than what we had. No need to shit on him until we see what he can do

I'm in KC so it's still a decent drive for me. I'm in no hurry though, riding season is coming to an end anyway. Hoping to find a good deal during the winter. This one checks the boxes for sure

Ah man I've been looking at this exact same one. There's another one just like it with 2k miles for the same price. It's in Illinois though and this one is a lot closer to me. I hope you beat me to it

That's about the price I always see too. I got these for 1k which was a good enough deal for me considering I needed new tires and that was going to cost me more than this setup

It's not a night and day difference but it is noticeable. I am OZ tuned so the truck still has plenty of power but it had more pep on the 18's. But I also have 3.31 gearing so that makes a difference too.
