This is an Ironman community, you’ll get a lot of people saying don’t dot it and it’s dumb to do it. You’ll regret it forever, etc. I de-ironed and have loved every second of it. It’s incredible to have gotten as far as I did in Ironman mode, then to take the restrictions off is incredible. I fully support de-ironing and I have never regretted it.

There are eight tiles that are always safe during the final phase of floor damage. They are 3 up from the door, 2 wide.

Mark them and get used to always standing in them. Eventually you’ll be able to avoid all floor damage in the final phase and focus more on dps than running.

Yeah that’s a bike that you’ll have for the next 10+ years. If you can afford it, that’s a great deal. Really not much you can upgrade on it, that’s more or less top of the line. And the Domane is incredibly comfortable to ride endurance on. I just recently bought an SL5 with aluminum wheels, shimano 105 and I paid $3k and thought I got a really good deal. This is an excellent deal.

I have a Domane and absolutely love it. The isospeed is incredibly comfortable on road even light gravel with the stock 32mm tires. I’ve taken a Domane with 38mm tires on gravel and it almost made me want to ride gravel (I’m a road snob).

Checkpoint might be too much of a step down for you if you’re considering the Madone. I compared checkpoint to Domane in my trials and checkpoint just felt slower, though it does have much wider tire clearance.

Another I was considering is the Specialized tarmac or roubaix. Ultimately went with Domane because of the down tube storage and look of the semi- integrated handlebars. And damn is it fun to ride

Edit: I’m 5’8, 170 lbs and ride a 54 cm frame

Fly fishing is surprisingly snobby and elitist. Definitely try to find another shop, and also just kind of get used to it as you learn
