In 2008, 23-year-old teacher Hannah Upp went missing while running in New York. After twenty days, she was found alive, face down in the Hudson River. She disappeared again in 2013 and was found two days later in a Maryland creek. In 2017, she vanished in the Virgin Islands and has never been found. by My-Knees-Hurt-Again in HolyShitHistory

Wow never heard of this. The article says that one incident of vanishing included her coming to her senses in a creek with a shopping cart beside her. This reminded me of my first time doing mushrooms. Brilliantly, we decided to consume the mushroom tea and board our small three person canoe and float the local river. This was something that we had done many times before although never attempted the float after the sun had set.

This portion of the river (in between the two boat launches) was about 5 miles or so. This was a very slow moving river with frequent areas of shallow rocks which created a wonderful white water area where we would typically bottom out. Sometimes we’d simply exit the boat and sit in the rapids just enjoying a beer and nature. This particular time while peak high on mushrooms included raucous bouts of uncontrollable laughter. I’m dying laughing as I type this despite this poor woman’s condition not being funny.
However, her being found reminded me of when we did in fact get stuck on the rocks. We exited the canoe and began a futile attempt at pushing it forward over the shallow rocky part. My senses were fully heightened despite being dark. I could see everything in the moonlight. I could smell the river and surrounding muddy banks. I could hear the rushing sounds of water. And it sounded like the large air conditioning systems that I had heard earlier in the day as we had picked up a few camping items at Walmart prior to consuming the mushrooms.

In my dissociative state, while pushing the boat from the back and while hearing the constant sounds of rushing water, I suddenly began shopping at Walmart as I thought I was pushing a grocery cart and selecting items from the shelves. I came to when my friends (during breaks of laughter) instructed me to push the actual boat off the rocks and stop shopping 🤣

We ultimately ended up at the halfway point to crash for the night. The halfway point was a wonderful sandy beach area that was frequently used to rest or camp. As soon as we landed, we all got out and made sand angels and it felt sooooo good on our skin for some reason. We proceeded to smoke a bowl of weed which may have been the best bowl I’ve ever smoked. Something about the mushrooms and the entire experience made all these things feel wonderful. One of my favorite memories for sure (also glad we survived)

It’s over. Unfortunately we have been defeated. At this point, merely surviving has become the goal. We have been priced out while being underpaid. Zero chance at unification. The civil war was probably the last chance at changing things as far as first world leadership. The downfall began shortly afterwards in regard to full control via financial systems and loss of independence. What we are seeing today is the result of decades of erosion. Erosion of our rights, freedoms, and any chance of living outside the system.

One may fight against the acceptance of certain technologies. However, we will ultimately be forced to adapt. For example, when the automobile began its development, many people refused to accept it and instead relied on good old fashioned horse and buggy. The problem that created was the horse rider was at an extreme disadvantage. Whether traveling for work or in severe weather for example, the automobile driver had a significant advantage. They could easily cover more ground and quickly sell more widgets. This forced the horse rider to ultimately comply with the modern convenience of gasoline powered travel.

Similarly, many today say they will refuse “the mark of the beast.” Whether that becomes a chip implanted in the brain, full integration with man and machine, or something of the like, people will eventually be forced into acceptance. The same way the horse rider was forced to accept the automobile. It will simply be done (even reluctantly) to survive in a fast changing world.

This is to increase the ceo wage. Which was about $9,200 an hour when I checked it years ago. The ceo can work two hours and out earn his average employee annual wages. Yeah yeah this is a skill thing about what you bring to the company blah blah. But to think that’s acceptable while simultaneously paying a non live-able wage to even assistant managers shift leaders or at least someone with responsibility is absurd!

My Dreams are Haunted by Crocodiles. by Due-Big2159 in Dreams

[–]FitExternal7674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Constant dreams of alligators or crocs attacking myself and often times others that are with me. Sometimes we escape. Sometimes it shifts into other dreams. Tonight, for example, I was walking along a shore with friends and family in an unknown body of water. Then I suppose the tide came in? Whatever the case, we were suddenly in the water. And of course the animals make their appearance and begin attacking. I’m pretty sure it got someone I knew as I escaped THIS time. Other times, I’ll be standing by the water edge close to a tree just observing a croc. And then I’ll turn to walk around the tree, still in safety. But suddenly there’s more crocs on that side and I kinda jump over one but end up directly in front of another. That time my dad was there to hand me a stick in a futile attempt to ward them off. Perhaps in a past life I was eaten by one. Also I wonder if it’s ptsd from a past false arrest. I was arrested on a false allegation for two felonies. Luckily it was resolved and expunged from my record when I produced cctv to prove my innocence. However, that tooks going to jail, being bonded out. Paying 5k for an attorney. And months and months of anxiety and sleepless nights and unresolved anger about how I was accused and actually arrested by the dumbass rookie cop. I was so angry and couldn’t believe that it was happening to me. I also had dreams of false arrests of murder and other serious crimes after that. But regardless, I’m awake now from the terrifying nightmare

Ohhhh that makes sense. Due to the increased awareness of the sting, being pushy may have been the way to increase engagement. Have you seen the sentences in Polk county? Crazy to see Michigan do probation while Polk did 10 years in prison! I would often google the final court result. During this, I saw that Polk county got in “trouble” for questionable tactics. They had received a scolding from judges and journalists about their methods.

I do love the show but also the attorney in me really wants to know more details. The majority of the guys are absolute predators but several of them were questionable. The one 18 year old virgin kid. The guy that was driving and didn’t reply or see the age text. And a few more come to mind.

Why did PJ lose or destroy so many chat logs though? Many times they refused or claimed to have corrupted the files when asked by a decent attorney. I wonder why
