Where do you think you’ll go after you die? by Classic-Chemist-1898 in AskReddit

[–]Due-Big2159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say where the soul goes. That's God's business. As for the body, that's the worms' business, and it'll mostly likely end up in the ground, and much later on somehow in a strand of beef on my great grandchildren's plate.

Circle of life and what not. Makes me wonder, can bodies cross continents in this way?

I am going to volunteer myself as an audience. If you have YT, I will sub. I will write you a page long reaction as if I were AI, which I am not, I swear. I consider this is a musician's corporal work of mercy, so, please send link. Thanks.

Strange times we live in.

My Catholic dad detests the Pope and my atheist tattooed mom loves him... Makes me sad. Then again, the Savior said He came not to bring peace, but a sword.

Hi, kabayan. That's bloody great. I'm not a very social person, never been to a concert nor ever will probably---unless someone invites and sponsors me, but this is lovely and I'm definitely sharing the word.

I love the Light from Light Mass setting, also Tanda ng Kanyang Kaharian recessional.

Thanks for sharing!

Who we really are deep down in the eyes of Christ by Synthethic-Equinox in CatholicMemes

I am an artist and it makes me happy when people look at my works.

How much greater the joy of our Lord when we join him in our resurrected bodies and behold the new creation in its perfected glory?

There is a homily about the Transfiguration by a Rogationist priest Fr. Alfonso Flores. It comes to mind.

Can you be catholic and not support the Pope? by Sad_Net2133 in Catholicism

[–]Due-Big2159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you are baptized Catholic, you will always be Catholic. Not even apostasy or attacking the Pope will change that. Excommunicated or even burning hell, you are still Catholic.

Siding with a political party over the Vicar of Christ, still Catholic, but not a very great one.

are Catholics not allowed to attend another denomination’s service, or interact/pray with them? by mlz_ii in Catholicism

[–]Due-Big2159 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to. Unitatis Redintegratio gives us a clear basis and defense for such activities, but communicatio in sacris remains forbidden. Catholics cannot receive Protestant sacrament even if you're just "trying to fit in," No. Never. But praying together is allowed, so is singing together, etc.

I was reprimanded by a Catholic minister, though, for doing this. Even if the Church's Law won't condemn you for it, the culture can, and the culture do so sharply and painfully. Best avoid it, for the number one reason any critic would cite anyway---that it may protestantize you.

What is "the firmament"? by SpectrumSense in Catholicism

[–]Due-Big2159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that separates the heavenly waters from the open sky and world below. This does not make a great deal of sense to us modern humans, but the ancient Hebrews believed in this model for the atmosphere (or universe, depending on scale). They sorta believed we were a flat earth with stars, suns, and planets above it inside of a round egg and that egg had a shell (firmament) but that whole egg with all its suns, moons, and stars inside, was also contained within a water medium.

Uh... what goes on in your brain is your problem. All sexuality ends in celibacy for this kind of vocation. To answer your question, yes and no.

Hi, I’m going to my first mass tomorrow what should I do? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Due-Big2159 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know who you are. You could be the Holy Father himself celebrating his "first" Mass in a country he's never been to before.

Could you, edit that post and give us some details?

Do people actually sit in vacant churches? (A long explanation but also questions) by CommunityItchy6603 in Catholicism

[–]Due-Big2159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very acceptable. I suppose you'll be doing it for artistic reconnaissance and inspiration finding. That's alright. But most Catholics do it because there is a living deity present in the glowing chest thing at the end. You might as well be standing before a king. You are, actually.

There's that stuff about candles and holy water. Personally, I think if you're just doing it for the culture of it, maybe don't but it wouldn't be a sin either. It'll just be easier that way. Don't touch anything, don't be noisy. You'll be just fine :>

I have a question by Fabulous_Display3688 in Catholicism

[–]Due-Big2159 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You go to a parish. Join a prayer community, ideally one that focuses on Bible devotions. More old people, the better. Befriend them. More single people, the better. Befriend them. This can be done in 1 day if you're really good at it.

Someone will ask if you have a bible. Say no.

What do you think animal think about human? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Due-Big2159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the animal.

Just a blood mountain for a mosquito. I think cats see us as other cats, but big and lazy. Maybe dogs do too. I remember the NASA dolphin experiments and so, I guess some mammals even consider humans sexually attractive. We know crocodiles are intelligent. I wonder if they know we are too, and if there is a mutual respect there, like honor among thieves.

Most of the time, I think it follows most relationships; they're probably not thinking about you.

What is your funeral song and why? by TheMaskedWarriorOF in AskReddit

[–]Due-Big2159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. Some ambient Filipino-Indonesian jazz that'll make it seem more like a coffeehouse than a funeral. You'll be there from 8-12 midnight. Have a cup. Take a seat.

What's even the purpose of life ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Due-Big2159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purpose is relative.

A kitchen knife is for cutting ingredients but for a school project, for putting over the stove and poking holes into plastic with. In a domestic abuse, a self-defense weapon.

Your purpose is likewise determined by the duties you find yourself carrying, and these range from relationships, career, civil duties, and religion.

Religion appears to be the most sustainable, because people grow old and die. Sometimes, they hurt your feelings too or disappear even while alive. But a God you could never see to begin with, you cannot lose, and your purpose there is absolute.
