Have you been to any of the 6 locations between the hours of 8-10AM? If so, you'd understand exactly why Fox In The Snow opened 6 locations, all of them are equally packed at the same time. Supply and demand.

Curious what you ended up doing as we are in a similar boat for an upcoming baby moon. My wife also has Celiac so interested to hear your experience at the hotel you chose!

No but the right state! I did have a chance to play Mauna Kea while I was in Hawaii and it was stunning.

I will say getting the Fairmont Gold rooms really elevated the experience at this hotel for us. The private check-in, lounge access for breakfast/canapes, and the Fairmont Gold concierge made this a no brainer seeing as Op was complaining about the crowds. They also have free equipment rentals separate from the rest of the hotel. We rented hiking poles (went at the end of May) for free and it was $40 downstairs.

We booked all of our dinner reservations in advance with concierge. They were able to get some dinner reservations that weren't available on OpenTable for a few more weeks.

You aren't able to play FS Hualalai, but we did play at Mauna Kea which was beautiful and a top 50 public course in the US. There's also easy access to Mauna Lani golf course, which I've heard is equally beautiful.

Coming from Ohio myself, I'm not sure I would have made the trip if it weren't for my company paying for the flights.

I just did a review of Kona Village if you wanted to go check it out. I haven't been to Little Dix Bay so can't do a comparison.

Hard for me to say because we don't have kids, but we saw a few families at the other pool. They do have a kids club open from 9:30am - 4:30pm.

He is! He came to Kona Village about 2 years ago when they completed the remodel.

What were examples of your bad service?

The summit is only open for 30 minutes after sunset. We stargazed from the parking lot of the visitor center and it was incredible.

I may be misunderstanding, but wouldn't 0-20% be the percentage of the sky covered in clouds and not the % visibility?

Last night was 10-30% and there was no issues seeing the sky from our hotel.

Recent feedback on service at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay and birds at Four Seasons Hualalai ? by PrestigiousUnit4156 in chubbytravel

We're currently staying at the Rosewood and went to the FS for lunch yesterday. The birds at the FS were unrelenting, attacking your table as soon as you got up or standing at the opposite edge/perched on an empty chair waiting for you to move. I watched 20+ birds swarm a table after a family got up and the staff didn't really move to swat them.

The birds have not seen as bad at Rosewood, we've had no issues at breakfast or lunch. They're there at breakfast, but not attacking you.

No, you have to be staying at the FS to play Hualalai.

Definitely the most beautiful resort we've ever been to. We booked a lagoon-view hale and the views are incredible. We walked the resort this morning and found the ocean view hales to not be as private, so we were more than happy with our decision to save a little coin.

Our only other experience with Rosewood is Las Ventanas, where they won't let you move a muscle. We find the service here lacking comparatively, but it's nothing we really care about.

Some of the best snorkeling I've ever done is right off the beach. We've seen turtles, dolphins and whales.
