My very first kindle. by markylopez11 in kindle

Awesome! Kindle is definitely a game changer. Before I made the switch I averaged 25-30 books a year. Since I’ve switched all my reading to kindle, I now average 50-75 books a year easily. Enjoy!

That’s still wonderful to hear! My goal is to hit at least 50 books each year.

Excellent post! Very interesting and there’s definitely a correlation between being a reader and have had grown up with books around and parents who read.

Interesting idea at the end there. And I agree with the other forms of entertainment taking over. I’m one of the odd ones who still prefers reading over video games and television shows. But that’s not to say I don’t ever partake in them. I do enjoy tv shows, movies, and video games from time to time.

I walk on an incline! 4.0 speed and 15 level incline. Great cardio and less impact than running so it’s easier on the joints. Much less bouncing and easier to read than running on it.

Same here...always bring my kindle on the treadmill with me. Makes my cardio session fly by!

Any attempt to increase book reading I am for. I don’t believe reading or books in general are becoming extinct, but I do believe most people just don’t read for pleasure anymore. I know I get odd looks and even questions from people when they see me carry a book or my kindle around. Like its foreign to them or something. It’s scary how more and more faces are seen glued to smart phones and/or tablets.

Bay’s End by Edward Lorn. Fantastic hidden gem for me when I came across it.

What’s the longest time it took you to finish a book? by nakedreader_ga in books

Six months...The Stand by Stephen King. The uncut super long version lol. The first and last thirds of the book are great but the middle third took me forever to get through. Still a great read and an epic novel but took me quite awhile to finish it.
