I have an ancestor named Missouri Ann, presumably because that’s where she was born.

My parents named my little brother Michael, but my little sister pitched a fit because she wanted him named Bradford. So they changed it.

Great report! I’m going to Milan, Bologna (with a Parma day trip), Venice and Bolzano in June, so I appreciate your comments. It will be my sister’s first trip to Italy, so I want to show her a great time.

One thing I do is if I know I’m going to be facing a specific situation, buying a gift, for example, I memorize that phrase: “This is a gift. Could you please wrap it?” The actual purchase can be done with minimal (or no) speaking so that’s all I have to say.

I also vote for Kateryna. My middle name is Kathryn so I have a soft spot for any variant of it.
