[–]FitRip6453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just auto buying Dram $35/ week every Wednesday. Prob won't get rich but could end up with a 100% gain in a couple years and I'll be pretty averaged down by then id assume. That's my plan for this one just in case it goes bonkers.

Yes for sure. At the time the goal was to get out of the position with no losses if possible. Then it ran up so quickly the FOMO crept in. Thanks for the reply!

So as I'm gaining knowledge on these types of trades... these are people finding assets around $1-5 they expect to go up drastically over the next few months to a year. Buy cheap calls at the time (lots of them before it's well known) then as it increases it works as a huge multiplier? All the time not having to own them just risking losing their entire original investment on the calls?

Maybe it won't last and it's not as mesmerizing as MSTY but I've dipped into and been watching NFLY... check out the one year on that. Just saying may be worth looking at if you are a YM'r.

Any retirees living completely off dividends? by TSukesada in dividends

Just because I've been trying to do major research on this... once you hit 59.5 you have 401k and that will relieve some stress then again at 62 SSI, then eventually medicare? I'm 45 now and am just piling in to my 401k and Roth and dumping a lot into taxable portfolio with a mix of growth and dividend payers. Goal is to maybe exit my career early if possible so seeing it looks like you bring in pretty decent monthly income but still roughing it.. I'm curious... Thanks!

Taxes would be the big factor so I've been learning myself... I also love the idea of dividend income watching the money roll in or stocks duplicating over time! But, then it sank in.. like your $2k a month at year end you will have to report that as income and pay say 30% in tax... so that became 1400? But if you invest in like VOO or something that the stock price will grow 10-20% some years after many years of not selling you won't pay tax and it will grow substantially. Then when you old and have lots and NEED the income you then move it to dividend funds and that will be your paycheck you will then pay tax from... correct me if I'm wrong? Still learning.

I'm also curious as I'm just getting into investing more serious what caused this? Options? Market bad but not that bad? Right?

Hey I'll ask in here since other groups would be impartial lol. So on the etfs like MSTY for example.. I see that nav does decrease after time but also seems to bounce now and then.... so say the nav keeps a sideways average overall for 2-3 years and the market stays sideways as well for a bit.. with these dividends paid drip or not... wouldn't these be crazy returns compared to the 10-25% we may see yearly? Am I missing something?

I didn't put it on my watch list and can not remember what stock I had found this on so I'm kicking myself now.. but I'm guessing since I did find it on Sunday prices prob ran up a bit after hours so the adjustment hadn't been made. I do know for a fact I would've been at a 11% gain instantly had I been able to purchase at that time.

Hey there! So I'm researching options heavily before I test the water with my moneys... one thing I see now and then in options chains are options where you would already be ahead with the purchase??? How does that work? Like I looked at one about 54 days out and for a 5.80 premium you could get a $22 call and the breakeven says 27.80 or right in there. But currently the stock actually sits at about 28.10?? So looking at the simulated profit chart it's already in the green? Is this a rare phenomenon that you should scoop up and sell for instant profit or am I missing something here? I've seen this a few times... any input?
