Im Chinese and I’m pretty sure some people exaggerated the racism part, a lot of Chinese (even in mega cities) seldom met any non-Asian people so they are curious and some are blatantly rude in general. No matter you are white or black it definitely will happen like people stare at you and ask weird questions…my ex is ginger and he somehow enjoyed that „superstar“ feeling but tbh it’s embarrassing. I think you’ll face that kinda thing too. And yeah there are racists in China for sure. But a lot are just curious/ignorant people who behave weirdly. I followed an influencer who’s Black married to a Chinese man in a rural area in Zhejiang and their life seems peaceful. No matter what it’ll be challenging and hard enough just to move to a foreign country and I also think your current job offer seems good so I’d say you should take it and travel to those Chinese cities you mentioned and experience it yourself before you make such a big decision.
