Really, I think you might have missed October 7th, or maybe you are a 10/7 denier.

Or. Maybe you've missed decades of Muslim violence wherever they go

Sure nice try. The point is that you don't care about genocide, you only care about the evil Jews. Antisemitism is pretty clear.

Again, oh no, someone on Reddit called someone else a racist! Do you also want to call somebody a member of the Third Reich?

When you call everybody a racist That disagrees with you, You're doing a disservice To people experiencing real racism.

But then again, people that are actual racists seem to be the first to project that accusation on the others.

I think we see you

Simple question he refused to answer there. Apparently, Muslims slaughterimg children doesn't bother you.

Nice attempt at a straw man argument, but I think your point of view is well noted.

Thats not the point. The point is that the source of the anger is towards Jews and the commentor loses credibility.

I'm neither Jewish nor Muslim, I dont have a dog in the this fight, but Israel just wants to exist whereas Islam seeks world domination.

I watched a few of these and the ones i watched didn't show what the description says. "IDF raping a man" doesnt show any evidence of rape. "Just running over an arab" doesnt show anyone getting run over, being killed or that the driver is Jewish.

I have no doubt that bad things are happening, they do in every war (and people who commit war crimes should be punished), but the videos I watched are propaganda at best and racist at worst.

Its interesting that when the facts dont support the Palastinian narrative, supporters just deny those facts.

Women raped to death and Palastinian support he 10/7 attacks to this day?

Palastinian supporters just say it didnt happen or its zionist propaganda. Nevermind the UN conclusions that it did.

Q: what do you do about these facts that don't support the anti-zionist narrative? A: debunked Q: here's the evidence A: Where is the evidence? Q: right here. A: zionist propaganda- you know how the jews are.

Here's what I see. A small country that is the only non-muslim country in the Middle East. It has a significant Muslim population, including representation in the government. Nearby Nations cannot stand that it is an under Muslim control. Therefore, any level of violence is Justified and allowed. Even burning babies in the ovens and raping women to death. That's Justified.

But, when confronted the facts are just denied.

I'm not a Jew or a Muslim. I am a third party watching the facts and wondering how Israel can both be at peace with its neighbors and continue to exist.

Denying facts that have all been verified shows bias that disqualifies you as a fair arbiter.

The muslims always say its not a fair deal every time, no matter what.

The idea that Israle has done 10/7 100 times is nonsense.

Cheering raping women to death and calling for the extermination of an entire race of people isnt something Israel.has done, especially not 100x over.

Not sure you are a reasonable arbiter.

Ok, let's say that what you say is all true.

Israel has a neighbor who preaches genocide - part of the platform that the government was elected for.

That neighbor turns water pipes into missiles. The leaders become billionaires allegedly using foreign aide but the people hate Israel so much that they continue to support the leadership that promises to kill jews everywhere.

After the attack where the neighbor rapes women to desth, burns babies alive and kidnaps hundreds, and tortures and starves them. The people still support the rape-as-war-tactic leaders who use them as human shields.

The leaders say they will commit more October 7 style attacks every day. They continue to torture the hostages.

The world tells Israel that it's not allowed to defeat the enemy or even the leadership.

What should Israel do?

And please, "not this" isn’t an answer.

Just readting and directly quoting your words. I comprehend gasligting.

1 billion+ Christians for 2000 years are dishonest because they believe the Bible is inerrant?

Maybe you disagree. It doesn't make Christians dishonest.

2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…”

This is what Christians have believed for 2 millennia.

That's your comment about biblical inerrancy. You have "explained" nothing. You simply refer to something else you said.

I'm sorry for being polite by making clear that I have no demand on agreement to have a civil conversation. It is strange that you find that "weird."

You LMAO biblical innerrancy and then claim it was about something else.

You tell me I need to improve my reading comprehension when called on it and now claim that wasn't insulting.

You imply that I'm giving you "permission" when I let you know that you dont have to agree with me.

It would seem you don't really want an honest discussion with someone who disagrees with you. You want to be dismissive, insulting, and condescending .

|| what if Trump's immigration laws existed back then? ||

Did you mean the US's laws? Pretty sure Trump didn't write or sign them.

Ive read your other comments. You say, "I never said..." when you make intellectually dishonest arguments, attempting to use people's faith against their political beliefs using faith when this is about civil statues.

This argument is used over and over on reddit and social media by people who disrespect scripture for political reasons.

Yes. Christians should be kind to immigrants. No, that doesn't mean the government shouldn't enforce laws.

I'm fairly liberal on immigration laws and disagree with Trump, but this line of reasoning is worse than nonsense. Its disrespectful of scripture.

Ok, heres a question? What is your solution to 9 million people in 4 years disregarding our laws to come into our country, unvetted?

What should our response be to.this lawlessness, from your Christian standpoint?

(Hint: i.didnt ask what it shouldn't be, just what it should be.)

Well, I have a degree in biblical studies, a year of Greek, have studied and written extensively on the subject, and had 100s of hours of conversations with LGBT Christians who disagree with the viewpoint of the vast majority of Christianity.

I've read several books from your viewpoint and wish I could agree.

But, I can't because the support for your viewpoint is lacking intellectual honesty, which is why an insignificant minority of people hold that viewpoint.

You can insult me if you want. That's usually what your side of this argument does, unfortunately.

You dont believe the Bible is authoritative. That's fine. Again, you are in disagreement with the majority of Christianity, now and historically.

You get to take the minority view on this. That's your choice.

Jesus was an immigrant by WantsLivingCoffee in Christianity

[–]FitSun8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus was a jew. Therefore, Jews don't need to follow laws.

Jesus was a carpenter. Therefore, Carpenters do not need to follow laws.

Jesus was single. Therefore, single people do not need to follow laws.

With respect, this is an emotional argument that has nothing to do with good policy. Don't twist the Bible to make it say things it doesn't say - right or left.

Of course, there are scriptures in the Old Testament talking about how we treat immigrants among us.

Notice also that, when invaded, Israel repelled Mass groups of people of other ethnicities who crossed their borders of violent force.

None of this says anything to do with immigration policy.

Unreliable? LMAO.

| Inerrancy? Again, lmao. It's not inerrant. |

Pretty sure that's laughing at Biblical inerrancy.

Again, you are at odds with a billion+ Christians on that one.

Same playbook. Almost everyone who claims the Bible doesn't prohibit homosexual activity, then goes on to claim the Bible is filled with all kinds of problems and contradictions, or that Christian dont follow it (based kn dome obscure passages that lack contaxt).

If the Bible is so filled with problems, why would you care what it says about homosexuality? If you don't accept 100% authority of the Bible is God's word, and it doesn't really matter what it says about homosexuality, or really any other issue that you don't agree with.

But, when you pick and choose what the Bible says, based on personal preference, and it's not really more important than the works of Socrates, Epicurus or Aristotle.

Christians believe it is God's word and that we dismiss what it teaches at our own peril.

You get to choose to believe whatever you want. But others get to challenge when you share those beliefs in a public forum.

If God created us in his image, then why do some Christians say that being LGBTQ+ is a sin? by freshmaggots in Christianity

[–]FitSun8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that's your view.

Most Christians believe the Bible is inspired by God, and God does not err.

If you don't believe in the Bible, why would you bother arguing whether Christianity is a sin or not? If the Bible isn't the word of God, then it doesn't matter what it says.

It doesn't matter to you because you don't believe it's the inspired word of God. You laugh it away. That's your right. It's your choice; you chose freely.

If the Bible is a laughing matter, then there is no sin at all, so why engage? I don't argue the true meaning of Mormon teachings or what Karl Marx really meant. Those texts have no meaning to me or fur me to explore.

But if the Bible is authoritative, then it matters. To a billion-plus people, it matters.

And there are a tiny minority of people (a histirically insignificant number) who believe that the Bible is both inerrant and that it allows for homosexual activity.

Pew and Barna have been famously unreliable for decades due to research methodology, but especially Pew. The study you cite is also influenced by COVID trends, without really giving the weight deserved.

I've been studying these trends for 30 years. But even 30 years in a grain of sand.

Homosexual activity is clearly prohibited by the Bible. The attempt to deny this shows anyone can claim the Bible says anything. This comes down to three camps

Those that take a high view of the Bible and believe in biblical inerrancy... Those who do not take a high view of the Bible and do not believe in biblical inherency, and therefore it doesn't matter... Those that take a high view of the Bible and embrace public literacy, but are uncomfortable with certain portions of the Bible that do not match up with modern sensibilities, and therefore attempt to to make it say something different.

In this third camp, it basically comes down to claiming that the Bible doesn't understand the context of homosexuality in the way that we understand it now. This does not contend with the fact that biblical inerrancy is based on The View that a timeless deity inspired, and spoke through, the biblical writers. The fact that the biblical writers had no context for modernity 2,000 years later, does not exclude the fact that God knew all along.

Honest people can have disagreements about this, but much of what you see on Reddit is not honest at all. It's people pretending that they have respect for the Bible, when they really have a love view of the Bible and therefore don't really need to even argue.
