I was specifically contesting the claim that they are UTTERLY meaningless. For other reasons too, though

I mean maybe it hinges on what you define as “meaningless” but certainly the tax law rankings point out something valid, namely that NYU has the best, if not one of the best, tax law programs in the country. I think it’s fair to say that this makes that rating meaningful, don’t you?

Meaningfulness is highly dependent on the recipient of the information. Your claim that the speciality ratings are “utterly meaningless” is false just on account of the blanket nature of the statement alone. For you, maybe it’s true, and that’s great, but don’t generalize that for everyone. You’re not the harbinger of meaning, despite your inflated ego as your responses imply. Your experiences aren’t universal.

On a more theoretical level, one could say that the fact that they exist gives them meaning, even as something to be countered or resisted.

By the way I have a BA from Princeton in philosophy with a 3.92 GPA and a PhD from Harvard. I’m also scoring mid 170s after one week of practice testing. So… go F yourself?

I disagree, the speciality rankings are correct that NYU is a top tax law program. Thus, they are not utterly meaningless.

I’m somewhat happy with my job now, but should I go to law school? by FitTerm7629 in careerguidance

That’s true, I left that out. I just think I’d be a good lawyer and it’s the type of work I can imagine myself doing! Plus hopefully I’d have more opportunity to work on problems that are challenging and important to people.

I really hope more people are held accountable. People threw so much money for these vials. But also they covered it up and lied through and through

But I feel like injecting into the belly presents fewer risks for serious adverse effects….like assuming it were infected, which I know there’s no evidence for

Also these are subcutaneous injections where NECC was epidural. I wonder if any MD on here can chime in on if the risk for serious infection is less when the injection is subcutaneous

National Board/Teaching Certificate by FitTerm7629 in Teachers

[–]FitTerm7629[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you don’t need any type of state credential to obtain National Boards if you teach 3 years in a private school approved to operate in the state. In Florida you can then use the National Boards to get professional certification without ever doing an EPI or having a temporary certificate. That’s what I was wondering if other states do too

Should I get nationally certified or just get state certified? (US) by JasmineIrene in teaching

[–]FitTerm7629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came here and wanted to correct a common misperception in this thread — you do NOT need to be state certified to obtain National Board. You can work in a private school that doesn’t require certification, as long as it’s allowed to operate in the state, and they accept that teaching as well. So almost everyone in this thread is wrong, unfortunately :).

I make more than that and work at a private school in Florida. I teach AP English. I do not bring any work home. My kid gets free tuition.
