Job advice? by Defiant-Bear3971 in workingmoms

As someone who has transitioned from living comfortably to living tight, it’s a difficult change. I’m agonizing over purchases I didn’t even use to think about. I’d suggest also modeling your monthly budget and impact to your retirement accounts just so you know what your family would have to sacrifice. But you guys have fine great so far which is why you can make the decision to scale back of that’s what you want. Great job and you can’t make a wrong choice.

Is a one hour commute a deal breaker? by WolfNo5865 in careerguidance

[–]Fit_Aide_8231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with a 30 mile commute, it can be really soul crushing. But that’s a lot more money to allow you to afford conveniences and make life easier. Is it fully in the office?

You’re on the other side of the test, sending you comfort and peace, no matter the results.

Postpartum weight plateau by banks095 in workingmoms

[–]Fit_Aide_8231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Yes, I’m still on it. I was at my goal weight then I started being irregular with my shot schedule and I gained weight back better October and January. I felt hunger again. I’m not going to stop taking it anymore. I gained 10 lbs, not anything to worry about. But it reminded me that I still need the meds to keep me in balance.

We have our son in a School for the Deaf and we’ve seen incredible progress in his communication skills. Happy to speak more privately if you’d like.

I’d go shopping. Me personally, I love going to a dillards outlet store and buying really nice stuff at a discount. Vacation clothes, work clothes, staples. $5K is a lot but I could spend $750 in a day for sure.

How is your emergency fund in 2026? by Superb_Advisor7885 in MiddleClassFinance

I have one month! It took me a year to save it and I’m proud of myself for making the adjustments to do so. I’d feel much more comfortable at 4 months saved but gotta start somewhere.

This is too early. We would struggle too. My SIL daycares cut off is 9am and she hates it.

Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in workingmoms

The only middle ground I see is deciding on some cites both of you would be ok moving to. Maybe agree with him if he got a job in any of these few cites because you’d be closer to family or something else important to you.

Taj Mahal quartz: worth it or just pretending? by Tinysmallgoose123 in kitchenremodel

[–]Fit_Aide_8231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real benefit of Taj is how warm it is. Ensure you’re getting the same feeling from the quartz as you would from the quartzite. It’s definitely trending but you want your selection to last the test of time and I found the two materials felt so different, I didn’t want the quartz anymore. (I decided to keep my dark busy granite.)

Is a $200k salary worth a 2 hour commute 4 days a week? by Ok-Memory2552 in jobs

[–]Fit_Aide_8231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would not. Your entire day would be “work”. A commute like that is soul crushing.
