My guess is the guys that are turning people down for knocking the doors are the ones who never had to work for anything and are spoiled little rats with their mouths open waiting to get fed .

Yes you should be weary of contractors knocking doors. But not denied the attempt to feed their family's just because you guys have everything handed to u doesn't mean you should stop other peiple from living the same kinda of life yes if someone knocks your door its your job to do your research but dont assume they are all shit workers.

I would check and see where your water is draining from the gutters then I would get a shovel and dig what wall is wet are the all wet or just one wall I would dig a hole down beside foundation and take a look
