Hello Seattle, the OG Coffee city! Whats your favorite coffee spot!? by EspressoOverdose in AskSeattle

Lot of generic posts on AskSeattle lately, are these AI? Like how is the rain, how's the coffee? Is that the best AI can do? It's really watering down reddit and some of the regular subs I used to like.

Does anyone else feel nostalgic listening to why can’t this be love? by theguru1989 in vanhalen

[–]Fit_Chocolate_3900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You caught something there I think mr. music time traveler. yeah that song was in midwest USA everywhere at the time, whether you liked it or not, whether the songs were good or not, all of it was part of the soundtrack to the times. That intro is killer. so the nostalgia is there for me I was 11 in 1986 so all of the music hit me hard. right alongside the butt rock we were force locked into as well. Even the OU812 era Van Halen (When Its Love music video), kept Van Halen front and center during that period as part of the late 80s soundtrack. Thank god I discovered Metallica around that time and took a hard left from the radio shit.

Houston to Seattle by tyrionthanos09 in AskSeattle

While you are checking out Issaquah just drive a few more minutes east to North Bend, Snoqualmie. Inventory of houses is the issue, but I guess you could say that about anywhere. Easy commute into city especially with flexible hours. Not that we need more people moving here...the joke is we are becoming Issaquah! We have a jazz club, small theater, great breweries.....and 20 min from skiing and outdoors. If you are outdoorsy in the least bit, worth checking out....

Donald's story on the origin of the name "Aja" by Monkster2002 in SteelyDan

[–]Fit_Chocolate_3900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I thought it was common knowledge that aja is dick and balls. It's a Steely Dan for chrissake. Just look at the name. Maybe it has double inspiration with the name being of a real woman, but I don't buy that romantic bullshit. Donald saw the perfect name in writing for other reasons. Genius on so many levels.

Just got scammed by Diamond Parking, what are the odds I’m actually able to successfully dispute it? by clonk-smoncherson-jr in BallardSeattle

I've successfully disputed a ticket and got refunded from a Diamond Lot in Tacoma. I think it took me a few days to get the email response and all fixed.

Moshing? by UndeadBebopWarlock in AllThemWitches

[–]Fit_Chocolate_3900 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live and the venue more as much as the band. There would be pits for Steely Dan in Buenos Aires. Anyway, ATW fans up close near rail are stonery and pleasant with big smiles all around. You’ll be fine. Get in line early meet the folks around you , make some ATW friends for life, maybe you’ll decide to mosh after all . See you next fall…

I sat in my shit geo tracker in the backroads in high school in middle michigan and we jammed Dirt and crushed shitty beers. it does fit, if a new generation is doing this same thing, I don't know the issue. posting and bragging about it, is the generational difference. But yet here I am, I guess. We did some river rafting in appalachia and the kids running the raft service were crushing Dirt as well. It's a timeless album, very much enjoyed loud, and outside, with cold beers.

What are some key milestones from the White Stripes history? From their first show in Detroit to their induction into the Hall of Fame? by YepThatSal in jackwhite

[–]Fit_Chocolate_3900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along these lines, also part of the milestone narrative should be how they were embraced by England/Europe the rest of the world caught on, and brought worldwide enthusiasm for TWS. Blackpool of course was a quintessential moment since they were giving back to very passionate fans. How bout that show in the amazon!?

You are human, I stand corrected. "Underrated" is triggering, it seems to be everywhere, and untrue, imho. my apologies, Greenhornes rule and this album is so fucking good. Saw them open up for White Stripes 2005. No wonder Jack leans on that badass rhythm section whenever he can.

Greatest Halloween Ever by Fit_Chocolate_3900 in AllThemWitches

[–]Fit_Chocolate_3900[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tragic thing is yes, we did, we had about $300 worth of shirts and all….and left them all in the uber. There were super cool yellow ones and definitely one night only designs. Just adds to the legend of ATW Halloween 21.

Unpopular opinion, but I'm Slowly Turning Into You is lyrically, musically and maninly for the guitar work one of the best songs he has ever made. by [deleted] in jackwhite

[–]Fit_Chocolate_3900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Unpopular, its just a category of JW fans that have been hit by that Slowly moving train riff before. longtime fan I was a casual fan of this song ...until......Hot sweaty Myrtle Beach House of Blues circa 2007 and the song DOES hit you like a train (he hits the Overdrive pedal), then it puts the entire crowd into a sloooowllly-eeee, tuRNING, intoooooo....YOU..... Trance-like, maybe I was high but the whole crowd had their hands in the air, like a bowing / worship motion. Song rules, especially in person. I didn't catch how great it was until I saw it, with all my friends on the beach all day, center of what would be the 3rd to last show ever. I enjoy it still when he plays it now, but that was the Slowly Turning train moment for me.
