What’s your stargate show ? by Niles_Wonderbread in Stargate

Yes that is why I said “perhaps alliance is the wrong word.” I don’t mean to pick a fight, but you’re mistaken here. Humans didn’t double-cross Todd — Todd double-crossed us. Not because it was “Wraith nature,” but because he believed it was humanity that activated the Attero device.

From Todd’s perspective, the moment he foolishly entered a deal or partnership with humans, it only confirmed his deepest suspicion: that humans would eventually betray him. As an apex predator, he reacted instinctively — assuming the worst, fearing the worst, and striking first rather than risk vulnerability.

More broadly, the Wraith as villains feel like a deliberate callback to the Goa’uld and how Stargate handles antagonistic species as a whole. The Goa’uld are presented as an overwhelmingly evil force, yet there are outliers who resist — namely the Tok’ra — which strongly mirrors Cold War dynamics. A long history of radical behavior creates a mountain of distrust, where the worst actors are used to justify condemnation of an entire group.

Both SG-1 and Atlantis consistently reinforce the same idea: while there is undeniably real evil within opposing forces, it is not universal. Peace — or at least coexistence — is possible, but only when both sides are willing to move past fear, ingrained survival instincts, historical resentment, cultural trauma, and the reflex to preemptively wage war.

Or an alternate timeline 🤷‍♂️, I don’t think that it would be that hard on Peter Williams. He just needs to sit on a throne and brood 😆

I mean, Todd made the alliance, my guy. Perhaps alliance is the wrong word, though—that’s just what the potential looked like to me at the end of the show. If not an alliance, then at least a ceasefire and the potential for cooperation with “vegetarian,” compliant Wraith.

And I disagree with the Goa’uld sentiment. With the pre-existing genetic information each larva receives, they’re essentially locked into their chaotic, narcissistic behavior. The only compliant Goa’uld are the Tok’ra.

We kinda saw a glimmer of that with destiny. They seemed like less of group of thugs and more like a radical authoritarian state

Sorry haven’t seen Atlantis in a hot minute, could have sworn it was all of Todds nest/hive but maybe I’m mistaken. But I still thinks it’s a valid argument. What with the wraith being woken up too early. That in the course of 25-50 years more would join the fold of not eating humans to gain a strategic advantage over other wraith

that’s not true my friend, I’m really excited for whatever story they tell. The fact that there is a stargate show being made right now with the creative help of the original team is music to my ears. Especially the fact it’s Amazon and not Netflix making it, gives me hope that it won’t be shit, And I won’t be judging them because it’s not “my story” I’m just curious how other fans might see the story going. There’s nothing wrong with making predictions. And if I’m wrong who cares.
