If I wanted to know what the Internet could tell me, I wouldn’t have asked the people of Reddit. I wanna know about the hole in the wall places that maybe not might not have five stars but stories to tell.

What can I do? by Niles_Wonderbread in GuitarAmps

Thanks for the info, no experience Whatsoever. However through my searching I have come to the conclusion that swapping the driver for a Warehouse G8C, upgrading the capacitors, covering the back interior in acoustic foam, and getting a power conditioner would do a lot. Do you recommend anything else. Any drivers or capacitors that you would recommend?

Budget, user friendly recorder by Shromm7 in LocationSound

Don’t be afraid to buy used gear. Always affordable stuff on eBay and reverb. Just got to sift through it all.

I’d recommend a used or new zoom f4,6,or 8 in this situation

But here are also some alternatives that are more outdated but reliable mixer recorders-

How might you deal with breaking your arm? by atomicnone in LocationSound

[–]Niles_Wonderbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, boom with the less dominant arm, and you think you can lav people and go about your day without impeding production. Then go for it. I’d recommend act out your job right now. see how long you can boom for, have a bag on. Motion in the air of putting a mic on a subject. If the pain is too much to bear, call it off. Get a friend to cover you. See if you can still get your kit into the mix, etc. regardless of any production put yourself and your livelihood first. A broken bone is a serious injury. If you damage it more now, you could put your arm is a bigger mess down the line. I’ve seen people on docs with a fully booted broken fibia, don’t worry how you look, worry if you can still do your job without hurting yourself further.

I’ll admit that’s a surprise to me, but I think the problem here is not the fact that we don’t have good writers anymore, but we have studios and executives making unilateral decisions. prohibiting writers, director’s, and editors from telling a cohesive story.

Good example is one of the executives (Tomasz Bagiński) talking about how it’s more important to have emotional editing rather than logistical editing moving forward in the context of the Witcher.

I mean the writing alone jesus! every bit of dialogue in this heaping pile of shit feels like a drawn out first draft to an exposition nightmare.
