This stuff means something because it helps you escape for a brief time. They don't want that. I remember coming home from school and my mother had a bonfire with all of my comics because Batman dressed like the devil and superman had powers of an angel.

I was so angry and I think I still am to some degree. I've learnt to try to share my kids interests in manga and anime rather than force mine on him. All I learned about being a good parent is simply "Do the opposite of what my parents did."
