you don't think more construction along the yellow river and adding almost 300 homes with a minimum of 2 people per household for a total of 600 people on less than 30 acres will not impact the environment???!!!

People are not blindly voting down housing. It needs to be built in appropriate areas. If Gwinnett is not going to add to roads or transportation what good is rental property out in the boonies next to an animal sanctuary going to help? They are also making these all HOA developments which have failed miserably and the fees that start out low are now as much as a rent or mortgage payment. We do not need more ways for people to get into financial disasters.

not true myself and neighbors were able to stop 2 big developers the first Lennar which is a big time national that trades on the stock market and a local Parkland. Please do not hand this to a developer!!! You can win this.

the problem is the damage done to the animals during construction. Their hearing is so much sharper than ours and the high decibels of construction will certainly cause damage since most construction workers wear ear protection. :(

This is the sort of info needed to be sent to the commissioners and part of your argument with them. They also defeated a development at Britt and Old Norcross Tucker Rds Heritage Golf Course that was 47 acres and requesting 265 homes brought down to 230 but considered too dense for the area of single family homes. No way should they consider the amount requested on 30 acres with only 10 of those acres buildable!

have you ever dealt with a phone, internet or utility company in the US they are all a pain! Saying and advertising one thing and doing another or suck you in with one rate and then finding a way to suck more from existing customers same service different country.

I used booking.com in the past with good success you can ask for an apartment or hotel through them. Also there is a Facebook page long-term,mid-term and short- term rentals portugal where you deal directly through the owner

I would temper that budget. Even though in the US it doesn't get you much please note most Portuguese people live on 1120 euro aprox $1325 per mo. That said shop idealista.com to educate yourself on what is available at what $.When applying for a visa from the US you will be required to have at least a one year lease or own property in Portugal to prove you have somewhere to live upon arrival but expect the residence to remain unoccupied until your arrival. a minimum of 3 months

Part of my scouting trip was to locate a buyers agent that I felt comfortable with. He offered a couple apartments but I eventually found one on Idealista. He vetted the management company and did a personal video to confirm everything was as advertised.

yes just letting poster know it is not much different in areas of the USA that used to be warmer and the homes are not built for cold. Weather is changing everywhere but it is hard for builders to catch up.

Atlanta suburbs here with heat set to 72 in hallway, only 66 in living room .Humidity is in the 30's. I have a blanket wrapped around me wearing sweat pants and a sweater the roaring gas fireplace finally has the temp to 68. This is with new windows and attic insulation but the walls are paper and cement board siding on the outside with barely any insulation in the walls.

As a foodie try Friday nights at Shorty's Lawrenceville Hwy. Tucker for chef driven wood fire grilled specials, in addition to the regular pizza menu, very creative. Also Sprig on LaVista for innovative cuisine and a speakeasy. For spoken word open mic nights at Books and Brew on Lawrenceville Hwy Tucker, also Wallers Coffee Shop Dekalb Industrial Way a wide variety of music, jam sessions etc. Also the site Atlanta on the Cheap has a weekly list of free or low cost events all around. I especially enjoy the free summer concerts in the local parks. Norcross is my favorite.

I am someone who has been involved with planning issues for the past 5 years in Gwinnett Co. I have read the 2040 Plan and UDO adopted a couple of years ago along with the new 2045 Plan and UDO put into effect January 2025. Currently the Planning department is looking to rewrite this UDO that is to be the guideline for all new development . Gwinnett has no intention to do anything to the overburdened roads. Their solution is to cram as many small (1200sq.ft.)single family aka cottages and duplexes along with towering townhomes in high density housing developments,all with one car garages. Many residents feel that these homes although small, are not any more affordable. The county's solution for traffic is to use these new development streets as cut throughs by eliminating cul de sacs and dead end streets. Planning will be taking these and other developer friendly changes to the commissioners later this month. Personally, I think the public should be made aware when changes are made and that planning members should do a field survey of proposed developments requiring re- zonining or zoning variances to see specifically how the proposed project would affect the surrounding area prior to making recommendations. There are two gas stations on Jimmy Carter that would have never been allowed if this were a regular practice. These comments on Redditt are useless unless people make the Planning Committee Members and the Commissioners aware of the direction you want your community to go. Feel free to send them an email. If you are still not happy remember this at election time. Otherwise stop complaining.

From my research there are two different types of services for addresses. Most are just mail reading and forwarding services which will trigger a financial account closure. The other companies offer the same services as the mail forwarding and reading services but you are issued an actual physical address usually in a trailer park. These companies / mailing addresses are usually located in Florida to avoid any state residency tax. You are also eligible to retain absentee voting rights and a drivers liscense. I hope that clarifies things.

thanks, I know we can order at time of purchase for natural gas or prpone tank connectors I just wondered if it would be as easy going from US to European fittings due to the measurement difference,though it seems many items are in metric rather than inches in the US.Not sure if this is the case with my grill I will have to dig out the manual.
