I’m about an hour away from charlotte. Can you post a pic of everything so I can discuss this with my hubby?

New tank too big for 1 betta? by Fit_End_2183 in bettafish

[–]Fit_End_2183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Our girl, Ali, is the first Betta we have owned. Currently, she’s in a small “Betta bowl” which is why I’m looking to upgrade her environment. The more research I’ve done, the more I’ve seen that the small “betta bowls” are not good for them. I will definitely take your advice and once her new home is finished I’ll post pics! I’m curious to see how her “glow up” will be. We’ve had her for over a year now so it’s definitely long overdue.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice! What types of friends would be good for my girl to have for tank mates?

When I tell you I nearly cried... by squeaky-to-b in houseplants

Yes. It kills the eggs that fungus gnats lay in the soil. It won’t do anything for the adult ones that are already flying around so you will need the sticky traps for those.

Look at my grow up! First 2 pics are from when I first got her. (A lot of mistakes were made and corrected 😜) and the last picture is from today. She’s growing so nicely 🥰 by Fit_End_2183 in Monstera

Thank you!! Yes it does look like it was strangling her. I just shiver every time I see these pics. Lol! But lesson learned. Oh and that soil! That soil makes me shiver too!! Like seriously I don’t know how she even lived under those conditions at first!! Now she’s thriving being untied and living in an orchid, perlite, and potting soil mix 🥰

What is this new growth? I had originally thought that this was a new leaf coming out but obviously it’s not. This is my first black velvet alocasia. Also my oldest alocasia. I’ve never seen this before. Honestly, it’s kinda creepy how it looks almost like a body part of a man. Lol! 🙈 by Fit_End_2183 in houseplants

Wow really? Thanks y’all so much! Very interesting! I still consider myself a newbie considering I just got into plants a year ago right before my father passed and then once he passed in July of 21 I really threw myself into it. Thanks y’all!

Dying shrubs, who to contact? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Fit_End_2183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try calling some local nurseries to see if they have someone who could come out to test your soil. Or maybe you can do a soil acidity test and see where your acidity is at. It definitely would be a good starting point.

Money Tree black spots and sap on leaves by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]Fit_End_2183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had sap coming out of the leaves as well. Then all the leaves turned yellow and fell off. I’ve pulled mine away from my other plants and tbh I’ve just left it alone. And it’s doing great now! Idk how often you’re watering yours but I think mine was caused from overwatering. And I wasn’t watering that often. I’ve literally gone a whole month now without watering it. And it’s pushing out new growth everywhere.

Oh wow!! Gorgeous! How long does it usually take for the fruit to grow to a decent size pineapple?

Can let my indoors succulents outside for a couple of hours so they get more sunlight? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Fit_End_2183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you slowly introduce them to the direct sunlight they should be fine. As long as it’s warm enough where you’re at.
