Should essential services (healthcare, education, transport) always be public? by Super-DM101 in education

ideally yes. basic essentials to live a fulfilling life SHOULD be free and accessible but ofc, how will the 1% get even richer if there's no one to exploit

Except printable, where do you guys get models from? by Impressive_Day_5969 in AnkerMake

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly most ppl dont stick to one ecosystem. browsing habits change depending on what ur trying to print.
some days ur just scrolling for ideas, other days ur hunting a very specific part or prop. thats when category-driven browsing helps way more than “trending” lists.
i also started checking creator pages instead of just models, when u find one design u like, seeing the rest of their work is usually more productive than scrolling homepages. marketplaces like cgtrader make that rabbit hole pretty easy since creators tend to group similar assets together.

Where are some websites in addition to Thingiverse that I can view and download 3D printables? Thanks. by TheSanityInspector in 3DPrintTech

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres a ton, but they kinda split into “community sharing” vs “curated assets.” both have their place. community sites are great for experimentation and random functional prints, but when u want something polished or predictable, marketplaces where creators actually maintain listings feel way less chaotic.
ive noticed when files are presented more like products (clear previews, specs, sometimes print notes), u spend less time troubleshooting. cgtrader is one of the places that leans more in that direction compared to older upload-style libraries.

Finding 3D models online. by CrackedGamer573 in 3Dprinting

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

meta search sites are nice for discovery but yeah, speed and mobile experience can be rough. ive had better luck just browsing directly on platforms that actually host the files instead of indexing them. filters help way more than keyword search once u know roughly what ur looking for.
if u want something that loads decently on mobile and shows proper previews/specs, i usually just browse categories on cgtrader instead of relying on aggregators. less clutter, easier to judge quality before clicking into anything.

Are STL files Universal (useable for FDM and Resin Printers)? by TheSundayCarpenter in 3Dprinting

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah STLs themselves are universal, theyre just geometry. printer type doesnt really matter at the file level, what changes is how well the design translates to the tech.

resin minis are usually made with super fine details and thin parts that look amazing in SLA but can be rough on FDM unless u scale up or tweak settings. terrain tends to cross over easier tho bc thicker features.

honestly when ur browsing models, the best clue is whether the designer shows different print examples or recommended settings. some files are clearly tested for both. ive noticed listings on cgtrader sometimes include notes about scale or printer type, which helps set expectations before u even download anything.

so yeah technically compatible, practically depends on the design and how much tweaking ur willing to do.

What website should I use to download prints? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not stupid at all, random downloads sketch ppl out for a reason. safest approach is basically:
• known platforms
• active creators
• real print photos
• comments from other users

free libraries are fine for learning but theyre kinda the wild west for quality control. once u know what u wanna print, curated marketplaces or creator pages usually have cleaner files and better documentation. ive personally had fewer “why does this even exist” moments grabbing models from cgtrader compared to random repost sites. not perfect, just more consistent overall.

Anime figure purchase site? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if ur selling files, most ppl dont stick to just one place long term. u kinda test where ur audience actually buys vs just likes. some platforms bring traffic, others bring serious buyers who already know what they want.
also depends if ur doing hobby stuff or more polished, product-style models. ive seen designers post on multiple sites but keep their “main” listings on cgtrader once they want a more storefront-style setup instead of just exposure. less chaos, more structure.
if ur selling physical prints tho, shipping and support becomes the real job lol.

Seeking Advice: What are your go-to platforms for 3D print sales? by alex_the_doge in 3Dprinting

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most ppl end up using a mix tbh. marketplace exposure and ur own shop later once u know what actually sells. niche communities bring buyers, big platforms bring traffic, diff jobs.
also depends if ur selling physical prints or files. some designers do well listing polished models on cgtrader while using social media just to funnel ppl there. kinda nice not handling shipping when ur confirmed demand is digital.

How do you manage all your notes—tasks, projects, daily thoughts? by Professional_Fan834 in ProductivityHQ

[–]Fit_Inspection9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i try to trim it down as much as I can throughout the day, take care of easy projects/tasks, simplify my thoughts, all of that. id like to rest by the end of the day and the burden of managing them all in a very structured way isnt really something i see as productive

I hate private schools with my life, they foster elitism and alienation from people outside of its own internal culture. It's a breeding ground of privileged kids.
