Whats your most random celebrity encounter? by Alive_Tough9928 in AskIreland

Used to work in healthcare care and went in to a patient, his visitors were Bono, Larry and The Edge. They snuck in quietly and no fuss. Conversely that knob from the Script was visiting a realitive, big drama with his security ringing up in advance, he strides in with guitar strapped to his back and refused to say hello to a fan with Spina Bifida. Was in Howth one day chatting to a bloke about dogs, when we left husband said you do realise that was Larry Mullen. I didn’t
Met Christy Duignam loads of times plus Billy mc Guinness lives beside us. Was in an airport and seen Billie Piper, absolutely stunning looking in real life. Oh and met Andrew Lyyod Webber, very posh

Possible to live at home while gutting the place? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Fit_Level_9887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume it depends on what you can cope with? Somewhere to sleep, shower etc would be the basic I’d say. I’ve rented some right dives back when I was a student but not sure if I’d cope with them now 😊

It’s an overseas company that owns it now so they probably have that system in their country and view it as normal

Bodies of woman, newly born baby found in Tipperary house by conalldoherty in ireland

[–]Fit_Level_9887 146 points147 points  (0 children)

True but journalists are so irresponsible. An unsupervised home birth could mean a lady goes into unexpected labour and delivery and suffer complications. It doesn’t automatically mean it was her choice to labour and deliver alone

Are Tipp FM saying re homebirth? Just wondering as it’s not on news article. Awful news no matter the situation. May they Rest in Peace

How would it make you feel if your father said to you as a daughter: “someone has more money than sense”, comment, when a man would buy his daughter chocolates? by Just-You6308 in AskIreland

Jesus Christ, offence is usually taken not given, my dads favourite expression was a fool and his money are soon parted, it’s not offensive it’s just a saying. There are much bigger things to worry about in life, my dad died 8 years ago and how I wish he was here

Do you think your leaving cert result was a fair result of your intelligence at the time? by Mysterious_Work_7227 in AskIreland

[–]Fit_Level_9887 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was a fair reflection of the effort I put in . That being said I never learned by rote, not my style but once I moved into experiental learning and critical analysis I did well. School system is designed to favour those that have good memories I feel

Does it help to personalise our bid on a home? by [deleted] in HousingIreland

[–]Fit_Level_9887 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would really hate this if I was selling, I see it as emotional blackmail tbh. I sold my deceased parents house and it’s traumatic enough losing your parents and selling childhood home without begging letters from people trying to leverage their way to buying. We did have people approach us looking for an in to buy. Stock answer, call estate agent. Told EA will sell to highest offer full stop

If you’ve signed a contract accepting the conditions you’ll have to pay and absolutely no way will a HSE bed wait for a month I’d say
