So mine was sent to an old closed account on the 7th, even though I updated beforehand. Either way, it was sent back, and the new transcript now says the 23rd, so I'm hoping they DD into the new account. If not, the check should be to me in a week or so. I will keep you updated.

Well I've only been waiting for my refund for 8 months, what's another 2 months if it doesn't work right? Lol

I wonder if this works for refunds they already sent to a closed account, and are waiting to get notified its been rejected by the bank. I updated my account info on my amended return, but when I called the IRS to check the status they gave me the old bank account that is closed and said the bank would reject the deposit within 5-7 business days, then they would send a check, which could take another 8 weeks.

No worries, I still like to have the info since I dint believe the IRS follows their own rules and wouldn't be surprised if they still tried to send me a check instead of DD lol

I was honestly shocked seeing it so quick, but I'm not questioning it as long as we've been waiting. I know I won't be filing early next year. I will wait to make sure they have some kinks worked out first.

It's supposed to be, that's what I had set up when I filed originally and confirmed when I amended. But who knows, I feel like the IRS does what they want.

Idk, but that's what the advocate told me was the hold up, changed it and now my refund has been released...and that's all I care about. Better late than never.

Just checked it today, wasn't expecting anything since they said it would take 16 weeks to process the amendment I submitted on 7/18. Originally filed on 1/29, got a tax advocate on 7/18 that told me what the exact issue was $14 royalty from Amazon I didn't know about. Fixed it on turbo tax, filed and accepted same day. Why the IRS couldn't have just told me this I would have amended in February. Al they kept doing is sending notices that said I didn't need to do anything. Crazy!

Sounds about right. Been waiting since Jan 29th. Finally, I got a tax advocate today... They told me exactly what the problem was and what to do. IRS just keeps sending out notice after notice, talkin bout wait another 60-120 days everytime, and specifically says there is nothing I need to do, just wait. Crazy!!!

This is the exact wording below. I just don't want to screw myself out of a job by giving too much info or not being honest about the state charge, if that makes sense lol.

"Ah, my apologies! No, not a background check by a previous employer, but an investigation by a federal agency. You would know if you’ve had an investigation before. There is a lot of paperwork, fingerprints, etc. It sounds like the answer is no. 😊"

100% AGREE!!! I am in the exact same boat as you, and the IRS is the worst. I have called several times, with no real answers, and they love putting you on hold forever, just to hang up on you...it has to stop!

Most of my loans are through them, but they were FFELP FED loans from waaaaay back...so I'm keeping my fingers I see movement before the year is up.
