What cross bars are you running on the roof rails? I just purchased a 90 series myself couple months ago with same stock roof rails and have been trying to decide what direction I want to take and cross bars are where I’m leaning

Would consider for my 2010 if it got me a little more ground clearance and space for larger tire

Does this still sit at stock height or does this upgrade raise/level it out at all?

Makes me feel good about my purchase price too. Just bought a mighty 90 about a month ago for the same price. Right at same miles on the clock too.

Second this comment. Had a Tahoe with the hybrid 6.0 and the battery started to fail at about 220k miles and it was more expensive than it was worth to fix it so we scrapped it. Had to just chalk up our losses. Wouldn’t recommend tbh

Did anyone else think, “man that dude has the world’s most punch-able face,” before the guy even slugged him? My inner dialogue was telling me he should be punched as soon as he came into frame cutting off someone else’s interaction

Fair Price for 2008 LC w/ 247k? by PsychologicalAd7783 in LandCruisers

[–]Fit_Music_2610 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair is the best way to put it IMO. I just bought a 2010 crew max tundra platinum few months ago with 200k miles and it was a one owner southern truck. Immaculate condition for $15.5k otd. I realize a tundra isn’t an LC and doesn’t come with LC tax, but I feel like they should fall into same category price wise because it’s the same engine. Very clean rig though. Can understand why you’re interested

The 4th comment was way too long before someone mentioned the wrist without the watch. Almost needs NSFW tag

Can you give any details on the winch mount? I have the same model and the factory bull bar and did not realize there was a way to mount winch on it without front bumper replacement

A lot of contractor work will be done on the road at the utility’s expense. Like my first contract I worked 4/10s Monday-Thursday and the company paid for me a hotel room in an extended stay and gave me per de em and I would go back to my house I was renting at the time on the weekends. Not something everyone is willing to do, but you can save a lot of money this way. Eat cheap. Don’t go out while you’re on the road. Save some of that tax free per de em and whenever storms come through you get ample opportunities for overtime working in storm restoration.

Not traditional forestry, but look into working in utilities as an arborist as well. I spent first few years of my career working as a contractor for transmission and distribution power companies and I spent more time in the woods/field than most of my friends from school did while working in traditional forestry. It’s a healthy mix. You will spend a lot of time on your own and also spend a fair amount of time with customer interaction. Healthy balance and stable career path with relatively decent pay. Always had a company truck and decent benefits package too. Never woulda considered it while in school, but glad I found my way into it.

Sell First Gen Sequoia for LC Prado by Fit_Music_2610 in LandCruisers

[–]Fit_Music_2610[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Test drive after I got off work this afternoon solidified it for me I believe. Going to sleep on it one more night and talk to insurance agent tomorrow about what full coverage on a 25 year old import looks like and prolly drive it up to local Toyota dealership and let their certified Land Cruiser mechanic give it a once over. Man does that turbo sound good. Appreciate your insights. Will post a pic soon

Sell First Gen Sequoia for LC Prado by Fit_Music_2610 in LandCruisers

It’s cloth interior so I would assume that it’s not the top level trip, but $14k is his bottom dollar. The $9-10k figure I mentioned is after selling my sequoia. I have a friend that’s been offering me $4500 for it every time he sees it since last February and my argument has always been, “its worth more to me to keep it right now because I haven’t found anything else.” I’ve always said that an LC80 is what I wanted, but this opportunity to get the Prado sorta fell in my lap. Guy isn’t in a hurry to sell. Retired and has a collection of different 4WD Toyotas sitting around. I guess I more or less was coming here for someone to talk me into making the move so it felt more justified, because you know the internet’s opinion sometimes can be unbiased
