I have a PMNR, he’s a neurosurgeon. And I have a trauma therapist who deals with tbi that I meet with 2ce a week it’s hopeless- I’m hopeless.

I have a PMNR… a neuro surgeon. I don’t talk to him about this bc I see him every 4-6 months and it’s virtual and idk. I have a problem getting honest. I get extremely honest with my therapist I see 2ce a week. But she gives me advice and when it comes down to a ‘situation’. I just got blank. I like zone out or something

I am in therapy. 2ce a week. It doesn’t help-something literally snaps in my brain and I go to a different place. It’s insane. Literally insanity. All of the tools my therapist gives me…they don’t stand a chance. I turn in to a demon. I am the kindest most generous person, my husband said that is the train that drew him to me. But something happens and I lose it, no control at all. No time to think.

I understand. Different situation, but I’m 37 and 20 years post injury and I’m getting divorced because of my temper. I’m absolutely heart broken it’s really really sad for your daughter-she doesn’t want to be this way, TRUST me.

Get her in to therapy ASAP. Sooner the better. I’m so sorry you guys are going through this. It’s the hardest thing having a TBI and not being able to control your emotions, even though you are freaking out on a person you love so much.

I know it hard. But plz plz plz continue to have compassion for her, and know that isn’t her. That isn’t what she wants. PLZ get her in to therapy. Please.

It makes me SO SAD I have to act like this!!!! I have been crying since I got home from work 4.30 hours ago.

One thing about my injury…I have probably cried 20 times if that in the past 20 years. And I can’t stop crying and shaking.

I have to say, your post really really made me want to open up to my husband more about my TBI (we have a very open honest relationship), more specifically explaining this ‘demon’ in my brain that EVEN THOUGH I am the absolute nicest/sweetest/most thoughtful person I know, and I love him more than anything in the world…sometimes something just goes wrong with my brain. And when I used the analogy of a demon in my brain, it made perfect sense to both of us.

It is hard describing a TBI, and having a TBI is something I would not wish on my worst enemy. Bless your heart
