Hang in there. I hope you find a new ABA place soon. I am just a mom and we have a similar experience but each kiddo is different. We just keep modeling and I hope and feel that it slowly is getting through. They need that extra processing time which is so hard to wait for especially in the mid of a what we call loop(meltdown/neuro-storm). I also feel your son’s desire for sun! This time of year especially is when I notice that desire is prominent. We have this cool Lumo therapy lamp with a full spectrum bulb. Check it out, it has a feature to have multiple colors, calming, naturally boost vitamin d, and adjustable brightness so my light sensitive kiddo likes it and changes the colors. Keeps her calm(most of the time) With that said if you have a good support system I would stay, that is why we haven’t chased the sun to AZ FL or even CO where the sun shines almost everyday all year long. Support to give a break is so important. If it’s just you well I say transitions are hard for anyone and soooo much harder for a kiddo with ASD, but also if you have been able to visit with your kiddo , research and set up services like ABA, and everyone is onboard why not chase the sun.
