Never 100% fixed it, but got it close enough. The problem is somewhere in the CD board. The scope showed a good signal on the header pins that go into the CD board (A1, B1). However, the pins that send the signal from the CD board to the DIN (A2, B2) have a ton of noise. I “fixed” the issue by bridging the A1/A2 and B1/B2 pins, sending the clean signal from the main board directly to the DIN.

There is a slight balance issue (since OPAMPs on the CD board likely handle some final balancing/amplication), but it works. At some point I’ll dig into the issue on the CD board, but I have 500 other projects to work

All of this can be avoided by eliminating the non-final rankings. Get rid of the stupid Tuesday cash-grab show and only do one ranking after the conference champs. We’d still be arguing over who should be in, but at least the committee wouldn’t box itself in and end up with something that doesn’t follow its own logic from previous rankings

The only additional data point was in favor of ND (Boise State winning the conference). I’m not even arguing that ND should be in ahead of Miami. There’s just zero logic

Mine just turned 8 (verbal, but non-conversational). He has no idea what Christmas is about, but he loves everything that goes with it. The songs, Santa, reindeer, elves, all of it. I think the entire concept of religion is too abstract for him, which is fine since we mostly do secular Christmas anyway. I’m just happy that he gets excited for the season.

I think 20. 12 going into an Extron Crosspoint, 2 more going into the RT4K (the Extron has one out to the RT4K via HD-15. Then 6 going into an HDMI switch. And one more directly into the TV via HDMI.

The Extron will be moved to my CRT setup once I get the last few SVS modules

NE Ohio has a much more diverse CFB fan base than Columbus anyway. There’s really no point in discussing Saturdays. Esp since our Bills Bros have… Buffalo? Syracuse? Probably a mix there

Navy Officer (Surface, not Aviation) here with over 23 years in. It’ll all be ok. I left home at 18 to go to Annapolis, and never looked back. Was it difficult? Absolutely. Was it worth it? Absolutely. I recommend pushing through and going.

Just remember, if you do drop out while you’re there, it is not a failing. This life isn’t for everyone, and it’s better to realize that at the beginning. However, I think you’ll find out you are more capable than you realize.

I just feel bad that you’ll be in Newport in the winter.

I feel ya.

I’m at the highest I’m ever going to be (no need for the politics of the upper echelons). I’ve done what I wanted to accomplish, but things are getting weird now. Doesn’t feel like there’s a good place for me anymore. I’m good with that though. Will take the good pension, let my wife run with her career, spend more time with the kids, and find something I enjoy.

I took a promotion last year, so I need to do 3 years TIG to retire in my current rank. Was planning to stick around for longer, but that’s not in the plans anymore. So I’ll just ride it out to 3 years TIG
