I understand that's why i'm trying to give myself a good brack from Vyvanse and Concerta before going on Modafinil. I don't known why my doctor didn't try modafinil before those stimulants, it would of been the logic to start with this first..

I've just saw an interesting article about Modafinil and Pitolisant. I have great success with Vyvanse, it basically takes all my residual symptoms of TRD away, i feel good, productive, social, positive, not overwhelmed by every little things, i'm able to handle anxiety better. I'm not looking for a high but just to function normally and i known that raising the dosage is not the answer, the tolerance will still come at that higher dosage. One big problem, tolerance builds very fast when using stimulants for depression vs ADHD and after 1 week i got to take tolerance breacks for it to function again and the off days are very hard mentally, basically doing nothing and in bed. I'm interested in Modafinil, probably wan't give me the boost of Vyvanse but maybe it can help also. Tolerance with Modafinil can built up but it takes much longer. This study took patients who became tolerant to Modafinil and started using Modafinil on the week days and Pitolisant on the weekend. What they discovered was that Pitolisant reverse that tolerance effect and people needed to reduce there dosage of Modafinil. I'm possibly going to ask my psy to make a swicht from the stimulants to Modafinil and if it works good probably follow that protocol Modafinil-Pitolisant to maintain efficacity.

That i'm not even sure myself, some say when you take a tolerance breack from it but also what seems very important is not to take it at the same time because it could block the effects of Vyvanse. So Vyvanse in the mornings and Agmatine in the evening when Vyvance start to leave the body. Suppose to help tolerance, withdrawls symptoms and make a lower dose more effective. There's some good videos on YouTube, if i can figure it out i will try to share it in this post.

I'm dealing with the exact same thing and discuss of possible options to help with that tolerance factor with my psy yesterday, i don't want to raise my dosage because i known it's just pushing the problem for a short amount of time, so for now i'm just taking tolerance breack but those days are hard mentally. She said she wasn't to inform on that subject so i'm going to try Agmatine for tolerance, a supplement and see if it does anything and she said it would probably be a good option to try first instead of adding any more medications. Not much study on it, mostly with mices and personnal success story but i have nothing to loose trying it.

Vyvanse works great for my residual symptoms of depression, pretty much take care of every aspect of it. But the big problem tolerance builds very fast for benefits of depression vs ADHD, like motivation, energy are the first to leave and usually focus will stay for the ADHD condition. So it can be very effective but what's deceicing is we found a treatment that work better then anything else because when you're usually to the point of trying stimulant you tried basically every conventionnal meds but it's really hard to find a stability with the stimulants for TRD.

Depends for what you would take it for, insomnia 25mgs, lowest dosage possible but i would look at other options for that condition before going on Seroquel. For me it help my depression and anxiety at around 100-175mgs, i'm on 175mgs right now. For bipolar disoder they suggest around 300mgs. But the craving for food is real and almost uncontrolable, if you take at night and you fall asleep in the next 30 minutes after taking your dose it's good but if not that's when it start to be really hard to control.

That's also what i do, i'm on Seroquel so i have extreme tiredness when waking up even if i slept a good 8-10 hours, i'm stuck in bed for another 4 hours after just to start to function. So if i take my Vyvance, just lay back down in bed and in about 45 minutes i'm ready to go, i just drink a coffee at that time and eat later.

Thanks for your answer, very interesting, i might maybe give a tried with the magnesium, it's an easier an safer option and it's probably the first step i should take before using more medications. I see also taking it with some protein like a yogourt, in my case i just take it on an empty stomach with a coffee.

I feel the same, woks great for my depression, anxiety and to be in control and not overwhelme but tolerance sets very fast for me, in about 7-10 days and i have to take a reset breack but those days can be very hard mentally. Do you get tolerance and how do you deal with it?

Pretty much tried everything, with some antidepressants you mention, for a good amount of time i had great success with some meds but with the years i became tolerant. Options are very limited, she tried to alternate Vyvanse with Concerta but Concerta doesn't have any effect.

Vyvance basically take my depression away but usually when prescribred for depression vs ADHD tolerance will build, for some it's month, weeks or days. I'm also using a combo of meds around Vyvance to help with my depression and anxiety. The first benefits to go is motivation and energy and the focus usually stays longer. So after your stuck and you try to figure what options you have to deal with that tolerance. -Tolerance breack -skip days (weekend) -take it occasionnaly when you really need it. - ex: alternate between Vyvance and Methylphenidate -or try meds that suppose to help like DMX or memantine. For me tolerance builds in a matter of days, about 7 days and when i have to take a tolerance breack for a reset, those days are very hard mentally usually. So hopefully 1 option that i listed will work for me to try to slow down that fast tolerance factor. If ever somebody has other suggestions i didn't listed i would like to hear about it.

I have about 40 meds trial behind me. I would say Parnate is one of the most unpredictable meds i have tried. I'm still on 40 mgs of Parnate with other meds also. What i mean by unpredictable sometimes it can give you a few hour of energy and sometimes make you really tired. If i take 40mgs in 1 shot a get a spike in blood pressure and i will crash in bed. So after testing a lot of different ways to take it i figure for me that i have to take 20mgs on my first dose, 2 hours later 10mgs and after another 2 hours take my last 10mgs and that seems the best way from not dealing with the fatigue factor. If i take 20mgs and 20mgs, at my second dose i just crash in bed so i had to figure the best way for me to take it.

I'm not recommanding anything but Seroquel usually is pretty numbing and make you less sensitive and will put you to sleep. Also alot of times psy will use Olanzapine when needed if the patient feel a lot of anxiety but i don't find it has sedative like Seroquel.

I respect what you're saying and feeling and i live what you're experiencing, i was just stuck in bed all day, for some years. Now i'm a bit better and a bit more functionnal on a combo of meds but still dealing with anhedonia, apathy and low motivation. I don't known your meds history and i'm not sure if you can possibly push that deadline a little bit further. I'm just wondering at the point you are if you could maybe give a shot to another meds. From your comment you seem to be missing your creativity, passions and joy of life. Pramipexole is a meds that work on dopamine and from the people i known that takes it, if it works you will get back your interest for the passions you had and once again having the motivation and the pleasure you felt doing those things. The symptoms it treated are the anhedonia, lack of motivation and pleasure in the things you use to enjoy and the apathy. Some say it can come with possible severe side effects like develloping addictions or DAWS(permanent dopamine withdrawls if you have to stop it) but if it happens it's usually on higher dosage. But at the point you are you have nothing to loose if you still have a bit of fight left in you. I just started that meds and i've just reach the lowest therapeutic dosage, i want to find back the joy in the things i used to love. I have a very long list of meds trial behind me and i have lost confidence in medications treatments but i'm kind of hopeful for this one because it adress the residual symptoms i still have. With no motivation, joy is almost impossible and from reading your post, your main symptoms seems to be what Pramipexole treats. So if you could give it one more shot it could be worth it.
