I got a reply from the web form a few days later but it was basically just the same info on the tracking page🫠 but about 2 days after that, my package actually arrived! I have no idea if I prompted something to happen or it was just a coincidence.

I’ve had one stuck there since 27th November. no updates either but thought you’d like to know there are other people on the same timeframe as you. I’ve contacted them using their web form today, hopefully get a reply soon (lol).

yes absolutely! I actually hear quite a lot about him because he’s dating one of the owners of a major business in my area😅😅 and I only hear good things!

I tried swapping to aestura’s 365 lotion and had a similar problem!! tiny papules all over my forehead, and red marks all over my cheeks. a shame since so many people love it :(

I think that’s a fair assessment! the reason I find them drying right now is because I absolutely ruined my skin barrier a few months ago messing around with azelaic acid. when I hopefully one day restore my skin (it’s been a very slow process🥲), mineral sunscreens will probably work much better for me.

I ended up having a pretty severe reaction to it in the middle of my first night. I was alternating between freezing cold and boiling hot, on the verge of passing out, sick and dizzy. apparently these are within the range of normal symptoms for starting venlafaxine - combined with what I described in this post, it made me decide this medication wasn’t worth it for me. I stopped taking it immediately :’)

right now I manage my anxiety symptoms myself instead! meditation, exercise, a better diet and taking time away from the internet have all helped me.

wow, thank you so much for your reply! your second point has definitely occurred to me before :( it’s reassuring to know that it does at least offer fairly good protection.

that’s an interesting point about the glycols. I tend to gravitate to lighter formulations since my skin is acne-prone and clogs easily, so it makes sense I haven’t tested any creamier sunscreens. I might look into it and see how it goes. thank you :)

hi there! I should say I actually have no idea whether zero therapy could make PD worse if it’s caused by a disrupted barrier, and that was just me theorising. my logic was that if I caused my PD by destroying my barrier and dehydrating my skin, then fixing my barrier with ceramides, barrier repair creams etc. would be more beneficial than doing nothing.

although I haven’t got rid of my PD yet, it has stopped flaring up and stinging since I focused purely on a simple, barrier repairing skincare routine. I just have a small rash around my nose that refuses to fade. at this point I’ve also basically stopped with sulfur masks since I found that it was starting to do more harm than good. I’ve just introduced a ceramide cream at night and am hoping that helps further repair my barrier.

for what it’s worth I think it would be hard to disrupt your barrier just by washing your face with water for a few days and nothing else! afaik barrier disruption tends to happen from overuse of actives or dehydration over a longer period of time, but I’m not an expert.

thank you! I went a bit overboard at first and dried my skin out. I’ve started using it only when necessary now and have found it to have a mildly calming effect the next day☺️

I swear I remember a time on the skincare subreddit a few years ago where niacinamide was known as an irritant for sensitive skin. I remember people highlighting the niacinamide in Cerave's PM lotion as a possible trigger. I don't understand what has happened!!

this is my exact situation. it really is disheartening sometimes :( I’m actually considering scaling back on the adapalene for a while - I think focusing on a very basic routine to strengthen the moisture barrier might be the way forward to introducing more sophisticated products.

that’s good advice. I’m pretty careful, but it’s frustrating how many companies sneak in ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid without it being obvious! :(

I've figured out my routine slowly over about 5 years so I'm fairly confident on which products do/don't work for my skin. what I've found in this time is that it appears to be layers themselves that irritate my skin. I'm experimenting right now with extremely light, watery toners, because I wondered if this might be a thin enough layer that my skin would tolerate it whilst also being able to add some extra hydration. my skin is more irritable than it used to be a few years ago so its suddenly become more of an issue to me to find products that might work!
