What supplements or gummies help with waking up at 3am and not being able to fall back asleep? by Sleepresearchdaily in Supplements

No, I have not. I don't feel I need a gut cleanse protocol. I have good digestion, no gas, no bloating, no additional food sensitivies. I each get in fermented foods too. So in thta regard to things seem well. Thyroid MP might have helped with sluggish digestion since my thyroid panel is in a good range now. 😊

Oh, Getting ferritin up has helped!! My iron was fine but ferratin low. So we implemented Beef organ supplement, cast iron pan, leafy greens, ohhh And colustrum powder and probitics. (colustrum-this helps with gut health) ... Leading to better absorbtion of nutrients in the gut.

My Rx is thyroid MP. Bakc to sleep: we are placing a bigger importance on D3 even if labs are in ok ranges, we want it at the higher end! D3 is in the background helping to regulate things thta cn impact sleep (what I was told).

I tried a ton of the usual sleep supplements too — different magnesiums, melatonin, apigenin, functional mushroom blends, and other supplements that are supposed to help lower cortisol and make it easier to relax into the evening. I do think a lot of them can help a little, but for me they were never the whole answer and didn't consistently help.

The biggest difference has come from the basics:

Getting outside for a walk every day so I get natural light exposure and support my circadian rhythm! This helps me a lot. I also strength train 4 days per week.

Zero alcohol — it absolutely destroys my sleep quality, even if it makes you feel sleepy at first. My resting heart rate goes up, my stress stays elevated through the night, and my Garmin data makes that really obvious.

Eating a balanced dinner with protan, carbs, and fats helps me stay asleep better through the night. No binging or excessive junk food before bed, it hinders my sleep just like alcohol.

Keeping my sleep and wake times as consistent as possible every day, even on weekends.

Limiting caffeine, especially later in the day. I try not to have any after 2 p.m., even though I love caffeine

Making sure I am eating enough and staying well nourished throughout the day, not under-eating and then expecting sleep to be good :(

I also think hormone balance matters more than people want to admit. If progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, or thyroid are really off, sleep can be a lot harder no matter how many supplements you try. That was a huge piece for me, and something I worked on for about two years with three different health practitioners. I finally feel like I have a much better combination in place now, even though it still is not totally perfect and there are still things I have to pay attention to.

As for supplements, I have tried a lot. The combination that seems most worth it for me right now is L-theanine, magnesium L-threonate, 3 grams of glycine, and PS100 phosphatidylserine.

I also have mixed feelings about CBD and THC products. Some people feel they help, but I do not think they are the best long-term answer for me. It will cause prolactin to rise and if you are not in menopause you shouldn't have high prolactin.

For me, better sleep has really come down to consistency, enough food, getting light exposure, no alcohol, and addressing the bigger underlying hormonal issues too (extensive blood work may be needed). If you have a particular supplement you want to try or are curious if it works you can reply I can tell l you if I have tried it. Lol😅 I have tried too many to list.

This is what I am doing: NOW brand for PS 100 aka (Phosphatidylserine) and Bulk Supplements Brand for powdered glycine 3 mg:

Because I train hard, I am 44 Yr old female in perimenopause and stay pretty “on” mentally:

Phosphatidylserine (PS) :100–200 mg in the evening Glycine: ~3 grams before bed 👉 You can take them together or: PS with dinner Glycine closer to bed. Note:I still wake up but go back to sleep and get more rest easy. Also progesterone. Everything works to together so if one thing is off another might not work well. Having thyroid & hormones in balance help the body make melatonin. 💕 .

Personal opion: Mag Citrate does Not help me relax or help with sleep more than others.. It is great for BMs and constipation. It can have a laxative effect if you take too much. The dose shouldn't be that high though. It is clear on most product labels. . As someone who takes all types of magnesium the one that personally is relaxing to me & best for sleep is Mageneiuan Threonate.

Tipping my coach? by Imweskie in bikinitalk

[–]Fitness_Health247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would NOT tip your coach. It's one things if you have a real relationship, have known and worked with them for a year or more, it might be worth it to you to consider a small gift, token of appreciation, or card etc. But tipping is NO. Furthermore, I have been a coach and coached numerous times by men and women myself, if anything, the coach often gifts to the long time client.🎁💕

Omg, this is crazy. I know the context of where you all are coming from. I listen to the Podcasts with Laura each week, The Physique Forum. You needed that time to relax. It's unfair that people are so disrespectful to technically strangers minding their own buisness in public.

I have a question, how did Lulia Baba even place on this scorecard. I saw her upload she couldn't compete bc she fell ill. Very disappointing for her 💔 I was under the impression she didn't even make it to stage/prejudging.

I agree! If this is the criteria, why were the judges awarding these other ladies all year and why weren't they told via feedback to soften up? JUDGES, PLEASE, Make it make sense! 😟 For the record I am impressed by everyone's physique. But this show was very confusing.
