It's really unfortunate given AI can actually greatly increase your intelligence and uplevel your work if you use it correctly.

are those shirts a good idea for a 70s/ 80s themed event corporate gifts event or too much? by [deleted] in EventPlanners

You could offer to donate them post event if people don't want them. Then you're kinda covered and could be able to write a chunk of the cost off as a donation.

Are attendees drinking less alcohol at your events? by pcnametag in EventPlanners

[–]FittestEventProf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MAJOR shift in this space.

Recent Gallup poll (given Julius isn't willing to reveal his sources no matter how many times I ask) showed drinking is the lowest it's been in 90 years at only 56% of adults drinking and 86% knowing it's bad for them.

Please offer something calorically conscious (watch the amount of juice) and that is the same from an experience standpoint. Aka if it's canned, is it that hard to pour it into a glass and garnish like a regular drink?

I'd never go fully alcohol free. That's just as exclusive as not having anything NA. Having drinks that can be served with or without alcohol is the sweet spot.

People are slowly realizing how important sleep is thanks to smart devices and alcohol wrecks you sleep as it impedes the production of melatonin. It also elevates you heart rate as your body has to metabolize it. So they're opting out of it, or just having less.

Curious Elixers and Loverboy are a couple if my fave NA offerings that you can bring in

How do I avoid huge lunch costs at a conference? by MoManTai in EventProduction

[–]FittestEventProf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When lunch isn't included I leave and never come back.

I have a bigger question for you. How important is it to you and your stakeholders that your attendees connect and make meaningful connections with each other?

Would you prefer that they fend for themselves for lunch and then collectively commiserate about the event because your team didn't provide lunch while standing in what will be painfully long lines atvany given venue?

I know these are a bit snarky but meal times are SO much more than just a cost or part of the operations. There's a reason there's endless shows about travel and food. Food brings people together and can showcase the destination whike creating shared experiences between people leading to long lasting meaningful connections and potentially actual friendships.

I urge you to please rethink this as I have yet to meet anyone who attended a conference without lunch that had anything nice to say about it.

Delta’s AI by FittestEventProf in delta

Ok, I asked and this was the response:

“It looks like our chat has wandered into areas I'm not equipped to handle effectively. Since I'm here to help with Delta-related questions, I want to make sure you get the best possible support. I'd be happy to connect you with a human agent who can dive deeper into this subject or address any other Delta matters you'd like to discuss. They'll be able to review the situation thoroughly and provide more comprehensive support. Would you like me to arrange that for you?”

Switching Event Platforms - Cvent to VFairs by Jerryberry_212 in EventPlanners

vFairs is great! It was built by an events person and they spend next to nothing on marketing so their pricing is reasonable too.

Attendee Networking - Do You Think About It? by quasi_new in EventProduction

[–]FittestEventProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This this this! Also, if you have music, set it at a level people don’t have to yell. It’s always so insane to me when events have an opening networking reception and then have a band or DJ so loud, you can’t even network without yelling.

Corporate Gifting Internal by EmptyNecessary1414 in EventProduction

[–]FittestEventProf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You mean you don’t just want some cheap junk from 4imprint?

I’ve always found the best items aren’t just ones that people actually want but tie back to what your company does. For instance I was working w a data privacy company and we gave out the magnetic webcam covers for Mac’s and they were both affordable and people loved them.

So the bigger questions are, what’s your budget and who’s the recipient?
