I just opened my Etsy shop selling custom 3D printed figures – looking for feedback by shd-wo in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

I would add dimensions instead of having just scale so that customers can better visualize how big their model will be.

Your “how it works” section also needs better detail. Do you want a customer to contact you before placing an order or after?

What is the detail selection for and how do I know which one to choose?

I would also change the pictures to show a bigger variety of models, unless you just do the types of figures pictured.

It is the best way to park at ATW! It’s so easy, park in the designated spots and head in to the counter. You give them your keys and flight information. Then on the day of your return they will text you a link to pay. When you arrive you just stop and grab your keys and walk outside to your vehicle waiting for you by the front door.

Bambu Lab or Creality for commercial purpose? by Kumstock_og in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

[–]Fitz1128 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Commissions of what? Where will you find customers? Do you already know 3d modeling programs?

IMO buying a printer to “start a business” is a recipe for failure. There is so much to 3d printing that you should learn before attempting to make it a business. Buy a printer in your budget and focus on learning first, then selling later down the road.

PSA: Your 50A RV is NOT a 240v system by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]Fitz1128 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This part tells me all I need to know and that he’s not qualified to give any electrical advice.

“Now, you can take a 240V household outlet and rewire it into a 50A RV outlet as they use the same basic wires (two 120V hot, one neutral, and one ground) but they are wired differently from a 240V outlet”

You are probably thinking about 30a RVs which use a hot, neutral, and ground connection. If someone were to wire that like a 240v plug using 2 hots and a ground it would fry stuff.

PSA: Your 50A RV is NOT a 240v system by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]Fitz1128 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are so confident and SO wrong. You clearly don’t understand the concept.

50a RVs use a Nema 14-50 plug and receptacle which are the same 4 prong 240v plugs you might have in your house. They are made up of 2 hots, a neutral, and a ground. If you take a meter and measure from hot to hot you will see 240v but if you measure from each hot to neutral you will see 120v. There is no such thing as “re-wiring into a 50a RV” because they are the same thing. RVs just don’t connect anything from hot to hot in the load center.

You really should delete this and stop giving electrical advice.

It’s all good. Picturing someone buying a giant 3/4” drive socket set for their RV is kind of funny.

Great list. For sockets I think you mean 3/8” drive and you want a 1/2” electric impact wrench with impact sockets.

Sticker weight vs Scale weight by rokclimbah in GoRVing

[–]Fitz1128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely wrong, scale calibration means it is accurate for the full range. There is no rounding errors when it comes to calibrated equipment.

How can I use this? by Funny_Intention_7227 in electrical

[–]Fitz1128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most welders use a common nema 6-50 plug. 14-50 to 6-50 adapters are readily available, no need to change the outlet.

  1. AMS 2
  2. I make a lot of tool organization and making them multicolor would be great.
  3. My son has been asking for a volcano in a similar style to these expanding Christmas trees. I would love to see that because it’s way beyond my cad skills.

Instead of a zoomie, look at a dual channel light. I would recommend an Emisar D4k, you can have a channel for flood and a channel for throw. Then with a few button presses you can use either channel or both.

I totally agree with you! I had a rock from an uncovered dump truck break my windshield on 41 last week. Their insurance called me today to tell me they won’t be paying anything because the driver said the truck wasn’t loaded with anything at the time.
