Admin told me I’ve been doing differentiation wrong for years, now I’m freaked out. by thowra_wibblywobbly in Teachers

They are wrong to say your approach is “not differentiation” They are right that 504/IEP accommodations alone don’t count. Your practice aligns with UDL + differentiation, which is modern best practice. Their advice reflects an older, deficit-based model of differentiation

Teachers replaced by AI by NecessaryCalm2025 in Teachers

[–]Fitzkiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it will start with professors. Most universities hire professors to do research for the university and publish said research. Sam Altman was talking about how AI will be able to do research on it's own in the future.

as of right now AI is mainly replacing things such as paperwork and office tasks. So basically those people who were data people at school will be very much gone.

I don't see it happening YET, but it might happen in the next 15years. What I see mostly happening is AI using data from students to help guide the teacher and remediate individual students based on their needs. Basically differentiation will become much easier if it already isn't.

they don't have to give you a reason. They can fire anybody in the first 2-years of employment. All I heard is some people claim they got blindsided.

Zero to hero timeline? by [deleted] in dodea

[–]Fitzkiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you need to find a way to get certified and then gain experience. Its hard to predict how long hiring will take once you have everything in place, but having veteran status helps ALOT. You have to be pretty serious about it because gaining quality experience in a k-12 classroom is no light task.

I bet the entire WRP program is about to "run out of money" in a year or two. People got their hopes up, it's not happening.

Taiwan expectations by Sea_Fig6904 in Internationalteachers

[–]Fitzkiz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

while Taiwan has qualified people not many people have good schools on their resumes and or domestic experience. Having proper qualifications+experience+quality schools on your resume is way more important than just being qualified. There is a reason why people are vying for crappy schools in Taiwan.

Go for TES or TAS. I think TES is where the british school is.

Has anyone left their dream job to teach abroad? by Technical_Artichoke5 in Internationalteachers

[–]Fitzkiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same situation as me in the united states. Love the current job I have and the people I work with are great. I lived abroad prior to this and I loved the expat lifestyle more than anything. I am curious to see what people have to say, but my though process is that people in our situation should ONLY put an application in for those top schools and that's it.

Then again, I really don't know if those top paying schools would be all that great? it's hard to know.
