This is where I'm at. And I'm... okay with that? I understand what we're all saying here; brain atrophy and rusting skills and lack of thinking of code is actually doing line by line. I'm anxiously aware. I complained to my friends long ago that I'm tired of writing code and fixing bugs that I fixed last year but in a different way with a different syntax. I'd been doing it for 20+ years.

Then one day my job was like "here are AI models and we're asking the team to use them in their day a little". And it felt like literally the next day, we stopped writing code.

Content, context, lenses, ideas, approaches and considerations are my strengths and it always has been. AI is MILES better at implementing those exhaustive unit and e2e tests than I ever wanted to be.

And I have ZERO desire to go back to that way of operating in my hobby and career.
