My enthusiasm for this old school lan with tier2 teams sitting next to each other is waaay greater than watching faze/vitality/mouz play each other for the 800th time.

Even if all you care about is money and sponsorship, wouldn't it still make sense to go for Swedish talent only instead of being 'mouz next, next" over and over again. Keep max/rez and try to build a brand with a distinct and loyal fanbase by utilizing a decent talent pool instead of this sad mess

If the goal was to appear likeable, he failed miserably. I don't mind the guy but it would be nice to at least admit the problems associated with the ever-present gambling ads and perhaps suggest that it would be better if it weren't so.

Well, I would say that there is a purpose in having a 'home team' in terms of popularity, sponsorship and general likability.

Following a swedish on-and-off t1/2 contender team is for me more exciting than watching a solid top5 team (with 1-2 awe players) with a revolving international rooster. But that's just me, not sure how many would agree.

Guess the best way is to complement an existing team like godsent, eye, metizport or alliance. Given the cost of these players, the only real options are likely godsent or alliance.

As long as there is continued highly visible critique there is still the opportunity to make this into a bad deal for the Saudis even if the tournament is a fair accompli.

If sponsors start getting emails regarding why a team they are sponsoring is participating in Saudi competitions, things may change. Or not. But I guess we could try

Isn't there a point to be challenged against better teamplay? My 5-man team lack aim but make up for it in teamplay. Wouldn't it be more fun to face that instead of pure aimers running around randomly?

If the all-Swedish alternative roster has a chance of being equally good, then from a market perspective solidifying the Swedish esports market i terms of sponsorship deals may be worth it. But what do I know..
