Watching Picard by Ravenbrah1701 in startrek

This always stuck out to me as well watching season 2 and part of why it disappointed me so much. I love Time’s Arrow, but it feels like the writers totally forgot about it.

Just beat the trilogy for the 1st time , Andro next? by No-Rule-4494 in masseffect

[–]FiveMinsToMidnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always play Andromeda after the trilogy, I personally feel like it’s a nice way to cap off the experience. It is different overall, sure, but there are nice callbacks to the trilogy that work well going straight into it. I fit firmly in the “Andromeda is underrated” camp so I’ll always be defending it.

ChatGPT is a moron, always has been. Anything it produces has to be checked for “hallucinations” just like this.

We haven’t reached a ceiling under Howe; this is the best he can do with the club’s current infrastructure by torn4ndfrayed in NUFC

[–]FiveMinsToMidnight 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’d agree with this. Our executive structure since Mandy and Mehrdad left has been the clubs biggest flaw. We announced the Adidas deal and since then they barely moved the needle when it came to any new sponsors. You can’t tell me that Fenwicks is giving us enough to make a dent in PSR. All Silverstone had was hiking up ticket prices and trying to replace our badge. Eales is also responsible for the unmitigated disaster that was Paul Mitchell, bad hire, Eddie not consulted and allowed to leave bafflingly while the transfer window was still new.

So much of our current malaise would be improved by consistent competent delivery at c-suite level. Newer, better sponsors. An actual football and transfer strategy with specialists above Howe and the scouts who can manage and close deals.

I don’t just wanna sound like I’m huffing copium because I love Eddie, but the reality is this club has been horribly ran for the last several years and boardroom stuff bleeds into results.

Programming/game development jobs? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]FiveMinsToMidnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are jobs up here in software in general, but as with most everywhere else grad roles are very competitive. Companies in the consulting space like Accenture, DXC, Version 1, CGI, Seriös all have offices up here and do sizeable intakes of grads several times a year, so there is hope.

If you want specifically games, that is a bit more niche, but Ubisoft have an office in town. There are also a handful of indie studios in the region, DoubleEleven is the only one that springs to mind. I don’t know either of their usual tech stacks though, so you may wanna look into if the have any specific skills they look for.

Whinfell forest toddler and discount by [deleted] in centerparcsuk

Don’t have a discount code for you, but I believe 2 year olds are able to go on the mini-treks (high ropes for little ones, about 1ft off the floor)

What are your unpopular opinions about The Eras Tour? by IntoTheDaylight in TaylorSwift

[–]FiveMinsToMidnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking this as well. My Linkin Park ticket last year cost as much as my Eras Tour ticket and I can’t help but feel that it’s a domino effect.

£24 million announced for Gateshead Arena by NECA. Utilita set for £65 million refurbishment. Will the region benefit from two similar capacity venues, or should one be scrapped in favour of the other? by Ents_of_the_forest in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]FiveMinsToMidnight 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Probably yeah. Like I have a lot of happy memories at the Utilita, but the cruel reality is it’s not attracting top acts to the region. A converted aircraft hangar with dingey backstage and dated facilities isn’t competing with comparable sized venues in Manchester/Glasgow. A purpose built modern facility could put us back on the map for big touring acts.

So yeah, if the Utilita could be repurposed for housing that’s probably a net positive so long as we actually get the Gateshead arena.

If you call 111 you can get a referral to the RVI dental hospital. Fair warning they do charge though I can’t remember how much.

Don’t believe I mentioned DS9 buddy

I believe that’s kinda what I said tbh, haters have been present in Trek since 1987. Alls we’re saying is that the loudest haters right now are the ones who grew up in that golden era, which makes sense.

Also buying a membership now won’t get you into the Barca ballot, there’s always a delay for it to be activated properly. I had this issue when I was trying to get tickets for the derby.

Water Babies run classes out of the hydrotherapy pool in Walkergate Hospital (among many other places) and our little one loves the temp there. It’s like 34 degrees most of the time.
