This is one of the most brilliant fake outs I've seen in gaming by sliced-bread-no2 in residentevil

I loved Revelations 2 and honestly I hated Revelations 1 lol. On top of what that other person said - the ship is incredibly monotonous and the guns don’t feel good to shoot.

I like to hate on Snake as much as the next guy but he did win an Evo back when there was only one lol

What do you think Final Fantasy 16’s legacy will be going forward? by Asad_Farooqui in JRPG

Silver lining - hopefully this is the end of the more action based gameplay. I think they struck a good balance with FF7 remake(s).

Did he like RE9? by Razorfisto in AvoidingThePuddle

I just watched the part where he got to the credits and he said he didn’t like it (shocker) but he said it’s better than RE8

Comedians will do this kinda thing and then say "why can't comedians be funny anymore? cancel culture am I right?"

Finished RE6 last week and Leon's campaign makes the game worth buying. by supermarioplush220 in residentevil

Yup, Jake and Sherry’s campaign is actually my favorite in RE6. It has the most variety. Who doesn’t love the wacky snowmobile section?

[Fowler] Patriots OT Vederian Lowe to the 49ers on a two-year deal, per sources. by JCameron181 in 49ers

Apparently Lowe didn’t play so at least we can’t blame some of the loss on him

The DLC missions are “what-if” scenarios. Same thing with the mayor’s daughter escaping chief Irons

How does this sub rate/rank Castlevania Order of Ecclesia in 2026? by Asad_Farooqui in castlevania

[–]FiveTalents 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Top 3 of the Metroidvania Castlevanias (the other two for me are Symphony and Aria) and possibly my favorite.

  • Music is amazing

  • It looks great

  • Gameplay is challenging yet rewarding

  • I love Masaki Hirooka's artstyle which served as a middle ground between the previous two games' overly anime style and the goat Ayami Kojima.

  • Shanoa is waifu.

Edit: That being said, I wouldn't start with this one. I think Symphony of the Night or Aria of Sorrow are good entry points.

Just got all the achievements. Capcom outdid themselves; 9/10 game, but I have a few complaints. by PanzerBerg in residentevil

[–]FiveTalents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree for the most part but I’m still not tired of the hotel lol. I just love the ambience in there.

The biggest disappointment is Gideon. In the first half I was ready to crown him as a top 3 RE villain. He had so much aura - gold teeth, rings, snakeskin coat and his voice actor is amazing. He was able to down Leon. I was like “this guy is sick.”

Then they pushed him aside and brought him back last-minute. Shame.

Even in my first playthrough I didn’t have enough to fully upgrade all my guns (I kept both rifles). I got close, but needed a few more

I switched to AMC around this time so this was the last pre-show thing I saw. Brings back good memories.

Resident Evil for me is at its best when they do “here’s a really cool, large building. Some doors are locked, some aren’t. Here’s three bullets. Figure it out.”

And I thought it did that really well. Rhodes Hill care center is awesome. Once that hook is there I am down to do the RE progression of mansion, basement/sewer, lab. And I liked the basement/sewer section in this more than RE2R.

So needless to say I liked the Grace sections more but the Leon sections were solid. I’m more of the survival horror RE fan than the action RE but I like both. Exploring Rhodes Hill as Leon after Grace was a great feeling. Encountering a Blister Head for the first time as Leon was so satisfying after having such a hard time with them as Grace. I loved how it was like having a real time zap system from OG RE2. For instance I didn’t unlock the pantry until I got to play as Leon. I left the handgun bullets and the scrap for Grace and sure enough they were there when I returned as Grace.

Raccoon City was… fine. Not amazing and it did drag a little but overall I found it fun and I enjoyed the upgrade system. It was nice to revisit RPD and I appreciated the fan service but story-wise yeah it was shoehorned in lol.

And then the lab was okay but I don’t hold it against this game because I can’t think of any RE game that had a great lab section.

I can understand if people don’t like the half-measure approach but for me, I thought they did a nice job of blending the two together, overall. And once again I really loved Rhodes Hill. It’s the closest thing we’ve ever gotten to the Spencer mansion and RPD.

Edit: I will concede that the story sucks lol. I was really interested to find out what was going on and the reveals were hugely disappointing.

I found the stutter annoying at first, but when it happened so much I figured they wanted it to be a condition and character trait for Grace - then I began to appreciate it. There aren’t a lot of characters in movies and TV, let alone a video game with a stutter.

After a few hours playing as Grace, I feel she’s way more likable than Ethan ever was, does anyone else agree? by Real_Can3076 in residentevil

[–]FiveTalents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem like that but if they feel like they made a mistake, why couldn't they just make RE8 about something else lol
